Get a popcicle container. I got one at Bed Bath and Beyond that makes 4.
Fill it up 2/3 way with pommegratine juice then fill the rest with yogurt. Freeze.
Makes a tart treat with 3 g protien.
    Yummy.
Oh, give it all a stir to mix up the protein and juice before you freeze it.
You can probably add protein powder to the yogurt too.

Are there any recipes that don't have whey/protien substitute powders/shots?

I was hoping to find some high protien food recipies.

I do a lot of crock pot cooking! It is a really good way to get my protein and the meat is always soft and juicy.

I don't use the protein shots. I just make sure I am eating a protein in every meal and I am keeping with my numbers. I do your basic chicken dinners etc just like I would for my family. They may have some rice or potato I skip that and have just the meat and veggies (or I sneak a bite of what they have). Just search any weight watchers recipe and you can alter it to our needs.

Coni, the protein does not have to be soy. I use whey protein, also in some stuff.

Just as a twist I'm on pea protein.. It comes from the pea obviously as opposed to animal and other types of protein... I was tested by a kinesiologist and she said it was what my body wanted... Not heard anyone else mention the pea protein as yet x

Hi Michelle, you will want to check with your surgeon. Most of us can eat eggs at about the third or fourth week after surgery; same for guacamole. But some of us just aren't ready for eggs that soon. I tried them at three weeks, but they made my stomach hurt. So I waited another week, and I was fine. Popcorn is a tougher call...I don't think I tried that until about three months after surgery. The kernels are hard to digest, so you really need to wait until your stomach is TOTALLY healed. And since there is little nutritional value in popcorn, the days of sitting and eating an entire bowl of it in place of a meal are gone forever. Yes, I used to be a popcorn freak...and truthfully, I still miss being able to eat my fill of it. Somehow, one or two cups of it just seems like a tease, so I do it very rarely when I'm feeling very much in control and when my husband is around to eat the rest of the popcorn.
    Diane

Recently i have been making fake ice cream for my family and they want it more than regular ice cream so i figured i could share it cause its so good it feels like you are cheating.

I make it in the magic bullet so adjust for the size food processor you have/ also this makes like 12 oz .

    2 bananas
    8 frozen strawberries
3 tbsp vanilla (fat free blah blah blah) yogurt ( or what ever flavor you want that your allowed to have )
2/3 cup vanilla whey protein powder

mix it all in the food processor and freeze. i like to freeze it in ice trays so i can pop out one or two at a time and thats all i need. I am trying to find creative ways to work in the protein so this is the result lol
