I live in Marietta, GA.

I was sleeved on 12/6/12 at Wellstar Kennestone. I must say it was pretty easy for me. I never had any gas pains or nausea. I have not thrown up even once! I know I'm not losing pounds as fast as others but I'm not unhappy with my progress. My surgeon said I'm doing great.

I go to the fitness center 4-5 times a week and work out on the eliptical for 30 minutes followed by about 20 minutes on weights.

Wellstar offers 3 different support group meeting each month and I go to the 3rd Thursday of the month right off of Windy Hill.

No, Gayle, I go to Cosmos Fitness on Sandy Plains Road (behind Dunkin Donuts). I joined there because it is SO inexpensive ($14.95/mo) and because it is only a mile away. I knew if I didn't join something REALLY close I would never go on a regular basis.

Where did you get your surgery done and do you go to support groups?

I used to belong to Cosmos -- so close to my house! Stopped at Dunkin Donuts for decaf on the way back from swimming last night. We must live really close to each other.
I had surgery at Emory-Crawford Long. Dr. Finley.
I went to one support group meeting downtown but it was beyond boring. Maybe I just caught a bad meeting. I was also at 6:30pm and it meant that I couldn't swim that day and was exhausted and starving by the time I got home. So, I gave that idea up. Do you have a good group?
I use this forum as my daily support group. The "What's on your menu...?" and the "Exercise...Are you getting any?" forums are my daily stop.
Perhaps we can get the locals together for coffee someday soon?

I have only been to two support group meetings at the Wellstar Development Center (right behind the Chick-Fil-A on Windy Hill). It does appear to be a good group and quite large. They meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30.

I think it would be fun to get together for coffee! You name it and I'll be there!!
