    Default Wtf????

    Check this out...

Extreme weight loss: New personal stomach pump sucks food straight out of stomach | Fox News

Can't see it as being anything but bulimia by technology.

This is all that's needed to throw WLS in general back to being seen as an unhealthy option. I can't believe anyone thought this was an idea that should be seriously pursued.

    Where are the ethics???

"Approximately 20 minutes after meal is finished, the patient will perform the “aspiration” process, in which they use the AspireAssist to remove 30 percent of their stomach’s contents before the calories are absorbed. Once aspiration is over, the patient is supposed to squeeze a pouch of water back into their stomach to help loosen food particles remaining in the stomach."

OMG.... This would NEVER work for me, I have a hard time remembering to plug my cellphone in to charge it!!!

Well, it is from Faux News.... but people will do some crazy stuff.
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.

Yes let's hope that with the source being unreliable it turns out not be true. But who knows, it sounds crazy enough to be true. The modern day peacock feather and bucket option. For rich fat people.

As we all know, there's lots of risks that come with WLS, but this seems even worse. Having an open line from your skin to your stomach just screams STAPH infection, to me. This sounds like such a terrible idea!

It's not FDA approved and probably never will be, thankfully. Either way, looking at partially digested food being sucked from my stomach would make me puke.

Actually, devices similar to these have been around for many years (although this one certainly may be a hoax). I remember seeing an advertisement in the back of a magazine for a machine that sucked the food back out of your stomach, via a tube that you had to be trained to swallow. A very confusing and damaging ad for a young girl to see, for sure!

Looks and sounds like a peg tube (feeding tube). That's crazy. I agree it could cause malnutrition will definitely do it and bulimia. People that's desperate will definitely use it inappropriately.
