I agree..I would rather not eat at all. It would just stimulate my taste buds. Between the shakes...especially at night...I eat sf jello and Popsicles. Also, join the "January" sleevers. There are alot of us. I think there is one other person on the 17th. One more day closer Justin...we are almost half way there. Can you take meds for the headache? I feel I am in the state of "ketosis" cause my mouth is dry. When do you leave for Houston?

My mouth has been dry as well. I am taking some motrin for the next few days. I just can't take it anymore. I think I just have to stope 3 or 4 days before surgery.

Justin, no wonder you are hungry. 600 calories a day?!?! OMG! Mine was 1200 per day. I had 2 protein shakes (Nectar Fuzzy Navel & Strawberry Kiwi), 3 protein bars (Bariatric Advantage), and 1 or 2 bags of chips (Bariatric Advantage), 5 oz. of lean meat protien, and a few cups of veg. I lost over 25 lbs. in two weeks! (I also did 20 minutes on the treadmill four mornings a week.)

I wasn't painfully hungry, though my appetite would flare up. The best thing I did was isolate. I am still isolating. I don't want to see or smell food until I can have it. I do not go out (I work from home). I can't. It's too frustrating. Fortunately, my wife has been a huge help (running errands, not cooking or nuking anything). Hell, I don't even want to see signs or pictures of anything food related--they are all triggers for the appetite.

I have compared notes w/friends (diff. surgeons), and my pre-op was more calories PLUS allowed lean meat protein (whereas theirs did not), and I lost more than they did.

    Best of luck to you!

I am only getting 860 calories a day. I just sent a email to the nutritionist to ask if that is ok. This is NUTS!!! Justin, did you talk to your Dr. about this? Like Dale said, you may need more than most. Don't give up..remember the reward at the end. My son is getting married in August and my goal is NOT to be the fat mother-of-the groom!

Almonds should be your new best friend! I'm on the pre-op diet & find that a handful of almonds really fill me up. All that chewing is good too because you actually feel like you're eating something! Greek salad is also a yummo way to eat veg/salad with lemon/vinegar type dressing (not creamy like I would love). I chop up heaps of celery, cucumber, tomato, capsicum, carrot & fat free feta cheese & drown them in fat free Greek dressing. Hope this helps

That's harsh- no food!! How have you done it? My surgery was delayed until the 15th so it looks like we might b in the same boat around about the same time? I wish you all the luck in the world with your surgery & admire your determination with the no food deal. On the bright side- I lost 5.2kgs with food so imagine how much you'll lose!!

Judith how are you doing post op. I have been doing fine until today with the gas. I don't know how long it is supposed to last but it sucks right now. Did not get sick after being put down for the surgery.
