    Default Just sleeved-Lots of changes!

    Hello gastric sleeve world!
I am 22 years old and entering my last semester of college! It's currently my Christmas break so I decided to have gastric sleeve surgery on December 20thin Dallas, TX!
Is is a lot harder than I thought! Though, I'm not in any pain anymore which is awesome! But having this surgery around Christmas has been difficult. The food looks great...I wasn't expecting all of these cravings!
I've also had a lot of trouble getting in my fluids and proteins...during my 1st week post-op they had to give me 2 liters of IV fluid.

I've already lost 15 pounds and I'm trying to keep that positive thought in my head to keep going.
I'm really excited to hear and meet other people who are on this journey too!

    Happy new year!

Happy New Year, and New YOU! I also was sleeved in December, and on Monday I will be 4 weeks post op! It does get better, the cravings go away and before you know it, you are looking at food like it is dirt, I know I am! LOL
    Take care!

Happy new year Happy new you! Yes it is difficult at first and Christmas time is the worst. There are so many temptations around which you can't have yet and you can't ask everyone else to not eat them in front of you. It will get better after the holidays and you get back to your school routine. The problem will be establish a new routine to get in all the fluids and protein your body needs. I'm sure you can do it. It is all a big learning process. Food you body needs vs. foods available. You will have to learn to eat to live not live to eat. Best wishes on you journey. It does get easier as the days pass.

Highest weight 440 lbs. lowest weight 9.5 lbs at birth
    Date of surgery weight 340
    12 week checkup 301 BMI <50 yeah!
Weight on birthday 3/24/48 Goal 285 would be nice.

It gets better and better. We all probably fell a bit off track during the holidays but nothing like before I am sure. You are so lucky to do it at a young age with your life in front of you. I wish I had done this 20 years ago ore more.

Jacqueline, give yourself a break please. You've had your surgery during one of the year's hardest times of the year food wise -- many of us have the food focused holidays, which is now different! Try to get your routines into place as school starts up again -- plan a head for your proteins and fluids so that you are able to cope with your classes. Also, allow yourself time to mourn food -- but remember soon you will be eating again and making better choices -- you will be eating to live rather than living to eat! I hope that you have a strong support system once you return to school, and that you have a Tremendous Terrific 2013!
