give yourself a little more time, you just had surgery and you are not taking in the protein or calories you used to. Sounds like your water intakes is good so hang in there. According to everyone I read on here, this to shall pass. I will not be sleeved until 6-20 but I am counting the days and trying to stay positive. I think you have done a good thing, it just takes some of us longer than others. So happy and proud for you and I anxiously await being a sleever also

    Hi there,
I went through the same thing. My doctor said I had post surgery depression, but I have always suffered from depression. I would call your doc and let him/her know what is going on. No reason to suffer!
    Hugs!

I can so relate, reading your post was like reading my own story. I got sleeved on 4/7/11 and did not get out of bed for the first 3 weeks honestly. I had pain, was so depressed, didn't want to talk to or see anyone at all. I felt horrible physically & emotionally. I thought I would never feel better and regretted my surgery. However once I hit the 4th week it was like the fog lifted and I started to feel like my old self. Now I'm at 6 weeks and feel so much better, just trying to work on protein & fluids. My friend who also had surgery said she felt like crap the first 3 weeks too. Hang in there it will get better. This is a whole new way of life and its gonna take us some time to get used to it

Usually when you have no energy, your electrolytes are low. Have you tried sipping Gatorade instead of water-just until you feel better? That always seems to help me. Use Gatorade "recovery" (that is one of the 3 types Gatorade has) it helps your electrolytes and also had protein in it. If you can't find the "recovery" type any Gatorade with help with your electrolytes. Don't over use it since it has calories, but at this point, feeling better should be more important than the weight loss.
    Good luck!

THANKS! I will try the gatorade. It just seems my taste buds have went crazy and nothing taste right but I will try anything because I am ready to feel like myself again. I am so thankful I found this sight because my husband thinks I'm losing it. LOL

You're welcome. Things will get better! Whenever I start dragging I drink the gatorade. About 10 days ago my BP dropped to 81/40. I drank a quart of Gatorade (slowly) and it went back to normal with an hour.

The liquid diet can also be trying; because, we need food for energy!!! I felt tons better when I started eating mushy foods. Take your milkshakes to work, and don't forget your proteins like maybe a can of tuna, chicken or salmon? I use low fat mayo to help it go down better. It's amazing how for me, protein tastes so good now! You will feel much better! LOL...Bonnie
