Wearing a Jackson Pratt Drain

So I am almost a week outside of surgery and has to wear a drain. The drain is aggravating and somewhat painful. Does everyone have a "drain" or is it by your doctors choice? And why? Also has anyone found a protein drink that will mix with chicken broth?

I had a drain for 8 days, it wasn't painful, but more annoying and interferred w/my sleep as I am a tummy sleeper. Once I got that out, I felt much better.

No drain for me. Unjury protein products has an unflavored and also a chicken flavor. The chicken flavor could easily be mixed with broth to enhance it flavor or is great with just plain water. I really like all the flavors from Unjury but you have to buy them online at unjury.com. I mixed the unflavored in Sugar free jellos and pudding mixes. Sure helped to the protein in when I was not eating much. I don't really need then now but I still have atleast one shake or cup of chicken flavor every day.

Thanks. I had another friend that had "sleeve" surgery but she did not have one so I just thought it was odd.

Thanks Marilyn. Because me surgery date came up so quick I didn't have time to order from unjury. But I may still try it.
