Desperately need help with women's fashion!

I have a challenge. I am trying to buy a Christmas gift. The lady has asked for some cozy, warm leggings.
I know nothing about leggings!
She is about 5'4" with a really big belly and really skinny legs. PLEASE help me find some leggings for her!

Oh my, Im not sure If I will be able to help, but I will let you know that you are going to have a problem. If she has a really big belly, then I would say go to a plus size store, but they may be to loose in the legs. Thats not flattering at all, the point of the legging is to fit nice and snug on the thigh so you can throw on a oversized sweater with cute boots or even a dress, so I think the plus size wouldnt fit properly. So go for a regular size, and just hope and pray they come over her tummy, that is the most uncomfortable and unflattering when your leggings dont "come Up" far enough, Im really confused on this issue, and im normally great with dressing and hinding imperfections of the body, but this is a toughy!!... Wish I could be of better assistance. Hopefully someone else with a similar body type can help.
If all else fail, get her a gift card with the Visa/ MasterCard Logo on it so she can buy her own and will be able to try them on.

16w or 1x would be her size.
ALL her weight is in her belly, chest, upper body. With tiny skinny legs. Like a pregnant lady. Therefore the only pants she wears are leggings, because they stretch over her belly but aren't crazy wide on her legs.

Well, if you know her size, just get those sizes...you could get the 1x and 16x and say you weren't sure. Or if you want to be REALLY safe get her a gift certificate at a store that you know she'll be able to buy leggings at.

Ok, got her some that are at least returnable. No gift cards- she hates them! She feels they are impersonal and the giver was just lazy!

I did! I would have loved if someone chimed in who was actually built like this. It would have been very helpful, but I'm running out of time for Christmas shipping! Panic set in.

I had friend with this shape..she used to (not a joke) shop at a maternity store. These days maternity clothing looks EXACTLY like normal clothing except for the proportions.
