Hey all. I'm getting sick of protein shakes & too much cheese caused constipation (tmi) & eggs..well I was needing something with a different twist. So this morning I used 1 egg, 3 T egg beaters, sprinkle pepper to taste. Then I added about 1/4 cup light cheese shredded & here's the twist..I thinly sliced about 1/4 apple. Stirred it up in a microwave dish. Cooked on high for a little over 2 mins. Probably could add a little milk for a bit more protein. End result? A mini egg casserole with just a hint of sweet. Now while that was cooking I ate the other 1/4 apple to help with fiber & lower regions. Totals about 11g carbs 18g protein & 245 depending on the kind of cheese you use. Have to say the apple added a texture similar to potato but with a hint of sweetness. Certainly not a culinary masterpiece but it did the trick for a new taste. Happy cooking!
I am about 3 1/2 weeks out and now that I am on soft foods, I am not losing any weight. I guess that is normal since I am actually eating, but still discouraging. I was wondering though... If I have to stop drinking 15-30 minutes before eating jello, popsicles, pudding or any other foods considered liquids or full liquids? Anyone have any ideas?
I have been mixing 2 Tablespoons of avocado with a little jalapeno ranch dressing and eating that as a snack.
Also, and I know it sounds gross, but the canned tamales that come wrapped in paper in a can are the perfect size and really soft. Sometimes I add a little sour cream. I am going onto soft foods tomorrow. Sams club sells this smoked salmon that I have eaten for breakfast for the past year or so, I have missed it while in my first three weeks
