I was drinking your typical GNC protein drink but not really seeing any value or change to my life while on these. I was introduced to Shakeology more than a year ago...what a difference! Not only is the taste better but it's so much better for my body and I feel so much better! I mix mine with a banana and peanut butter. YUMMM!

I have tried making peach smoothie using just skim milk, protein powder and peaches for my friend. But he stated that he is missing something in it. So for suggestion I just want to know that had anyone else tried peach smoothie?

Orange juice is yummy...I use the Nectar protein shakes. The Fuzzy Navel tastes just like orange juice and I throw in a whole peach. Super yummy!

I have discovered the use of sugar-free pudding mix in protein shakes. 2 tsp per shake - otherwise it's really thick. Butterscotch mix with peanut butter is my favorite so far.

Default Day Two of pre-op sleeve liquid diet. Protein replacement drinks making me gag. Help?

Hi all, first time poster here. I am on just day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet. All in all not too bad but the protein replacement drinks all taste so sickly sweet to me I am afraid I won't be able to get them down. I am allowed 4-5 meal replacements drinks a day, water, sugar free jello and pop sickles, clear broth, etc. no solids.

After just two days I am starting to gag at the thought of those icky, syrupy tasting drinks. I have tried the bariatric advantage orange and the Costco vanilla meal replacement. Also the Costco chocolate.

Are there any other meal replacements out there that aren't sweet tasting? Are there any soup type meal replacements or unflavored meal replacements? I have a call into my doctor's nutritionist to see what options I can have.

I gather I am not supposed to us plain whey protein powder as it's not a full meal replacement.

Any ideas or tips greatly appreciated.

I don't worry about full meal replacement, it is about getting the protein in. I am over 4 weeks out and still use unflavored whey protien isolate in most drinks and soups, potatoes, marinara sauce...broth...everything.
For the vitamins I am not getting, that's what the chewable vitamins are for!

My favorite is Unjury. U can buy on their website. I love the strawberry. It is pure whey protein ISOLATE..... Word of warning: If anyone is using
Any protein supplement, steer clear of products that contain whey protein CONCENTRATE, the amino acids are destroyed in the production process therefore your body can't use it. I was eating protein bars at work for lunch cause I never have time to sit and chew, chew, chew. It took 3 months to figure out why my hair started thinning and falling out when I was getting 80-90grams of protein a day. The only thing that changed in my diet was going from the Unjury shakes to the protein bars. I hope this helps.

Good Luck Catheryn. I'm 64 and 4 weeks out, and I'm doing quite well. (knock on wood). I've been having alot of chicken soup, GNC protein shakes, and just discovered Click Espresso Protein. Yummy!! Also, Unjury. It's really the best.
One word of warning: if you make chicken soup, do not eat the chicken yet. No matter how tempted you get. <G>

Simple idea for a chocolate-peanut butter shake:

Mix one Premiere Protein shake (or Unjury chocolate powder) and two teaspoons of smooth peanut butter, blend. It's quite good and satisfies my sweet tooth and gives me my protein needs.

I also tried adding a few drops of peppermint extract to a scoop of Unjury chocolate mixed with water but found the result less then satisfactory. I'm going to try it again with Unjury in milk and a Premiere Protein shake.
