I hate this 2 week pre-op liquid diet. :/
Those commercials are the worst i used to watch them and i could smell it and taste it just from the sight try to watch it and think to yourself its not as good as i think and i swear over a few weeks it will decrease your reaction to it. Its good that you are talking about it because telling us is a great way to hold yourself accountable were here when ever you are struggling. Don't give in you can get past it and once the surgery is over it is so much easier not to want it. Hang in there you are so close!

Also I have found other recipes for stuff that is "fake" but its real healthy food so after you are past this little food craving message me I will send you some of the new foods I have found that help with cravings. I dont want to over load your brain with stuff you cant have right now.

Thanks Alison.... right now, i just wanna cry. I miss food. I know this is the hard part. I know once I'm able to introduce foods slowly back into my life and being on the sleeved side, where I'm not as hungry and can only eat so much, things will be better. Right now, I just want to sink my teeth into a piece of pizza.

I am truly appreciative of this site. You never have to feel embarrassed here for craving food on a gastric sleeve site. Everyone here understands one way or another.

I just now started to be able to tolerate the tomato based stuff. 5 months out. I wouldn't try it at 9 days out

There is a rainbow at the end of this! that was a great way of putting it. After surgery you will learn easily to see foods differently and please keep yourself sane and rant and vent and scream on here when ever you need its all part of the process. I learned to look at food as toxic if it wasnt raw and fresh I am amazed at how much easier it is now to eat and not worry about what i eat unless i get off track and in those moments i get on here and vent (orange candies the other night )Its amazing how i still feel so welcomed here after loosing so much i was afraid i would no longer fit in with the people I enjoy and those who know the struggles I have been threw and what I still fight at times. You can beat this food craving are the old fears we are scared to let go of sometimes but when you let go of something you allow yourself to be open to experience so many new things. Sorry if i get a bit over wordy on this stuff but i remember those days and i have to tell you so that i remind myself how far i have come. you have gone 9 days and that may not seem like much but remember its 9 down and ??? to go until you find that happy place but you are capable of reaching that goal! Remind yourself of that when you feel week!

After about 10 days post-op all my cravings went away...seemed strange to me, but I'm just fine with that. I also wouldn't eat pizza until I've reached my goal weight, but that's just me.

Oh man pizza! I too am a bread lover. I will tell you that a couple weeks ago, I went to a luncheon that they were having pizza, sandwiches and salad. Thankfully for me, the served California Pizza Kitchen? Do you have one of those? They are SUPER thin crust and they serve personal pizzas cut into 6 slices. Ok pre surgery I could easily eat the entire pizza. I very, very slowly ate one piece of the pizza, but not the end of the crust. And it was fine. I haven't had it since but its nice to know that every now and again when the pizza craving goes haywire, I can do that.

Other than that I haven't had any bread and sometimes I would kill to sink my teeth into a sourdough loaf!

I think the key thing is with any diet or plan to lose weight besides moderation, is to adapt things you want into better, healthier versions.

I have had small portions of pizza several times since my surgery, it went down and I tolerated just fine, but I have to watch myself and make sure I don't over eat with it...that is uncomfortable.

I have had thin crust pizza, I can only manage 1/2 a slice. I can also have bread but it has to be the WeightWatchers thin bread toasted. I have found I don't really want it anymore and I was a carb-aholic!

    I don't have bread routinely at all, but I do have bread occasionally in take out treats. At the risk of causing shock and horror among many here, since the surgery I have had the following food on one occasion each;
    * KFC - one wing piece and about 4 chips
    * McDonalds - half a small burger and about 8 fries
    * Deep-fried soft-shell crab with garlic, chilli, spring onion and mango marmalade - one of my favourite entrees ever at a local asian restaurant.

From time to time I've also had a small amount of chocolate, and some other times a small amount of crisps.

All of these times I've been thrilled that I've been satisfied with a small amount. I'm also thrilled that having these things once doesn't seem to trigger off any cravings in following days. I'm keeping an eye out for that.

I haven't tried any pizza yet, but I'm sure I will do at some point. I've always tended to pick the topping off first and eat, and then have the base anyway, so I can make sure I get the meat, cheese and veg in first.

I'm not particularly suggesting that people should eat like this because as I have, but I guess I just wanted to say that it's possible to lose weight without being obsessional about food choices all the time. I'm aiming for a 90/10 mix (90% good choices, 10% what I like).
