Default Lap-band to sleeve conversion people, do you...

find it harder to follow the plan this time? I do. I was like a low-carb hi-protein freak when banded. I stayed under 20 carbs a day - EVERY DAY. I drank protein shakes like they were going out of style. I walked the track at the park daily and did wii Fit. I did all this like a nut for 9 months straight until my complications became too much to handle (from the horrid band).

This time around protein shakes literally make me throw up. I am walking but not like before. The thought of long-term lowcarb makes me cringe. I will put in the work but it just feels like the lapband experience ruined me a bit.

I have the sleeve bible that may help you. I send both the Sleeve Bible and Mexico Trip Tips documents together because they have a lot of information. If you're interested, you can pm me with your email and I'd be happy to send it to you!

I am afraid that you will have some trouble if you can't do protein drinks. Have you tried the unflavored protein? I can add it to oatmeal without really noticing it much. Sounds like maybe you got burned out on them. I would eat lots of cottage cheese, eggs, wendy's chili (when you can), and greek yogurt so you can do as few protein drinks as possible. Good luck!

I'm a conversion too...and I feel very much like you do! Perhaps it's our experience in having success with weight loss then dealing with the complications that make it harder to see this as a long-term success?...Not sure what it is but I get what you are saying totally!! I hope that we both see better days ahead!! Best of Luck to you!

I converted in October and find that things I used to like eating, make me sick now. It's like a whole new eating experience. I thought it would just go from one restriction to another but so much more changed with the sleeve. Just experiment I hardly ever do protein drinks unless they are vegetarian. I don;t like the thought of what may be in there to make the protein - yikes! I get my protein from milk, yoghurt, and meat. I am on myfitnesspal and I am always at about 70 g of protein per day without the shakes

Yup, I've already thrown up peanut butter (blended into liquid of course) twice and I LOVE peanutbutter. Hopefully my taste for it comes back. I also tried the all-meat wolf chili (blended) that was suggested and I threw that up too.

So far my sleeve likes thinned-out sugar free oatmeal, no-sugar applesauce, cream of wheat, and Fiber-One cottage cheese.
