    Default nerves are really bad

Okay so as you know surgery was tuesday. Well my lil town is small and my works in a pharamcy-so she sees a lot of people whose had different type of WLS. My mom who is and has always been my biggest supporter told me tonight that she seen to patients that had the sleeve one the same suffering to do mine cut her colon (how do you know of those signs)and the man (4 years post op) has gained a lot of his weight back. I'm so nervous ...1 what if I have a leak? 2 I plan on loosing and keeping it off.. how many old sleevers (past 2 years) are still maintaining? I cant have blown 10 thousand ... I know I'm talking out my head but need some words of advice.. thanks in advance

Have you read Rainbow's blog? She is 3+ years post op and has kept it off. There are several others who have successfully kept the weight off. You have to shake off the "stinkin' thinkin'" and just figure out how YOU are going to be able to keep it off through diet, portion control, eating habits and exercise. You are past the worst of it, and there's no going back. Just figure out how to make this path a successful one. : )
    Good luck, Girlfriend!

I posted a recent study on here that should answer all your questions. from what I understand most people reach their goal or almost reach it. and more thanj half keep it off for more than five years.. gaining half of what they lost back. so if you lose 100 pounds you,may struggle with 50 of that 5 or 6 years down yhe road. there are alot more answers your looking for in other places online. do some research to ease your mind.

To late to worry about that now. You are fine and the healing has begun. The success with the sleeve is in your hands it is just a tool and not every one has the discipline and drive to be successful. We can and will do this but the work will be our own. Have faith in yourself.

Summer, mother's got to love them and hate them! They are our best friends, strongest supporters, they know which buttons to push, and they can be our worst enemies as well! Your mom isn't making this journey, you are and you will do just fine! I hear you girl, my mom just doesn't get it (it might be that she is 85 and does't always hear what I say or remembers what she wants), your mom knows too much. Take a deep breath, smile and then prove her wrong! Remember some day we will be in their shoes with adult children that we are still trying to protect!

I had a lady tell me today that she had a gastric bypass (Didn't look like it though) and that when I get 2 yrs down the road I will return to all my old habits. She didn't warn me she outright told me that I would go back. What is wrong with people. She doesn't know me from crap so how can she tell me what I will do 2 years from now!! I just can't believe she told me that!!

That is exacty why I didn't tell many people. I don't need to hear their negativity! What are people thinking, anyway?!? You'll prove them wrong, girlfriend!

I am almost 5 months out and I really dont know how people could eat to much to get back to where they were or even close to it. I wouldnt want the feeling I get if I even eat one bite to much, every time I would eat. They would have to over eat all the time to do that I would think. I am no angle and I have and do eat things I know I shouldnt. I dont do it often, but if I do I make sure I work by butt off the next day.
