    Default Saggy skin

My surgery is next week and was wondering how best to fight the saggy skin that I am sure I will have! Has anyone lost the weight and not have that problem? I am 41 and feel that it is just part of the process, but still want to try everything I can to help stop it!

I haven't had the surgery yet. I too am worried about the saggy skin. I just keep telling myself that I can live with saggy skin, I just can't live with the FAT anymore. At least with saggy skin I will be able to bend over and tie my shoe without thinking I'm gonna die cause I can't catch my breath. I am sure saggy or not your inner beauty is going to shine with the success and progress you will be making!!!! Best wishes to you thru your journey!!! Hope all goes as you have dreamed it will!!!

I use the... NIVEA Skin firming Cellulite Gel-Cream Q10 Plus. Its in a blue upside down tube with a women on it doing stretches.. I have been using it since my incisions healed. It has really worked on me. You can't even see the scars and it lasts a while. I've lost 108 lbs and still have some skin...But, not as bad as I thought it would be.

I have used a moisturizer every day, head to toe for years. Also I have been working out pre-op and aiming to lose 1-2 pounds a week. I have lost almost 40 pounds and 18 inches since November and my skin has no sagging. I hope to continue at this rate when I have surgery. Slow but sure is my goal. Good lunch yo you

I have a little bit of sagging, but less than I expected. I think I will end up with a little tummy pouch, but and I'm going to keep using moisturiser and give it several months after goal before I think about whether or not to do any plastics. I know that I have friends who had kids in their late 30s who have saggier bellies than me. Actuallly I think the thing that is bothering me the most is having a saggy neck - I never had a tight neckline even when I was normal weight when I was younger, so it's looking saggy now.

I think the amount of weight you have to lose, the way you distribute your weight, your age, the natural moisture/elasticity of your skin are all factors which will influence how much saggy skin you have. Moisturiser, hydration, and exercise can do a little, but probably not a huge amount.

All depends on ur skin. Unfortunately i am just recovering of a full mommy make over. I went in for small tuck and my sergeant had to give me full tuck. Six areas of lipo and a full reconstruction of breast. Reduction lift and implants and all I have lost is a little more the 115 pounds in one year. Good luck ladies

I've been wondering about this too. Mostly for the skin around my belly. I have a feeling I'm going to need a tummy tuck once I lose all the weight. If there is a cream or ointment or something that I can use daily to help that would be great! Otherwise I'm gonna have to invest in Spanx! lol

Saggy skin is a very big fear of mine!!! I try to weigh what would be worse my jelly rolls or a thinner stomach with skin that hangs. I have been going to the gym and have been firmimng up the skin so I wont have that much of a problem when itcomes to sagging skin. Good luck to everyone and their skin !!

I agree, that is best response to help the excess skin, work out and continue to be positive. Old fashion sit-up remedy.

I had read that doing water aerobics helps with that but I still have a little sag... I know my stomach is not going to be pretty. My son stretched it out plus I was steady gaining weight after I had him. My thighs are a little loose and my arms hang a little. My starting weight was 396 when I started trying to lose weight back in 2011. As of now I am at 264. I expected to have some sagging. It's not as bad as it could be so I'm grateful for that.

There are supplements that support skin elasticity! I get mine from the Metabolic Research Center! I take those in capsule form, along with my EFAs (essential fatty acids, which is fish oil) and that supports skin elasticity also! Good luck!
