Hungry too often

Can not get over how hungry I get. I am one month out this Thursday. Have dropped only about 10 lbs. Exercising like crazy but get so hungry and can take in what I consider way too much. Last night had half of a 6 inch steak and cheese flat bread from subway. 20 min later had the other half and about 10 min later a subway cookie!!! Stomach hunger but then head ot so upset that it all fit. Drank some water and my stomach was finally full and making noises but I never got that kicked in the chest over full feeling I did when I ate 2 weeks ago and it has me worried that i am not restricted enough and can et too much and wasted my time.


Please any advice??

1 Month @ 10lbs is good. Too many people get hung up on how others lose weight. That is 10% of the weight you plan to lose (based on your ticker). It is 10lbs that is VERY unlikely to ever come back.

The surgery is only a tool. Surrounding ourselves with food that is suboptimal for us is going to cause problems sooner or later. Sorry to be a bit mean, but somehow I suspect you weren't kidnapped by terrorists and dragged to a Subway and forced to eat, so what were you doing in a Subway? Especially, did the terrorists force you to buy a cookie too? Those are some pretty mean terrorists.

The flatbread, while you may have thought you were making a good decision, is actually 10 calories more than the whole wheat bread and 2.5g more fat. I won't even comment on the cookie.

Again, it goes to my feeling that people perceive hunger in different ways. I was lucky, the hunger that drove me to eat has gone away for the most part. Like right now, I was pretty hungry for lunch. I got some prawns with dip and have eaten about 5 of them so far and have two more to go. I am already "not hungry" but will eat the last two just because I know I need to feed myself.

My personal advice is cut back on the exercise for a while and only put yourself in front of protein, no bread, no "wasteful" carbs. The reason the "Atkins" type diets work is by forcing you to only eat protein you naturally cut down on your calories. Also, lots of exercise requires lots of calories, maybe more than you can healthily fill with your new stomach, therefore driving you to eat silly things.

good advise, we tend to sometimes get the item we think has less calories, fat,ect ...then find it has more

Thank you! I appreciate your honesty and thoughts. Yes I was sabotaging myself and talked to surgeon nurse at the clinic and was told I should be on mushy foods etc. I had my surgery on the military base but the clinic in town has a support group that meets once a month and she told me to come next week. Shared thoughts and fears and your post and some others withmy husband and promised to tow the line better and to keep him informed of what I should be doing and not doing and when I feel like I am struggling. It's all up to me to know and to do........thanks again. One day at a time....

Keep in there. This is a one day at a time thing, but it is also for life. You are worth the effort! Don't let those terrorists abduct you again.

A support group is great, especially because you will find out that a lot of what is going on is perfectly normal. In our mind, we are fat people and our fat brain loves to find all sorts of nasty ways to keep being fat. One of these days they will find a pill or discover a surgery that not only changes our bodies, but our minds as well!

Its the tube they use to make your stomach a certain size. Like a pattern there is an awesome you tube video on it. I don't have the link, but the name is VSG Q&A's: What is a bougie?
