I just spoke to Henry Cortez .. Patient coordinator for Dr Quinones. Have been hearing good stuff about this Dr. Special ends OCT 15th...
Stay away there are other dry out there in Mexico..I'm having surgery in November and I only gave 500 deposit..u read what happened to girl that the refund check bounced. I wouldn't trust no one like that...
I'm also considering him as my doc for my surgery... The way Henry explained it to me was that the prices are going to change in the beginning of the year, but if I scheduled now it would only be $500 cause it's so advance... Maybe they want $1000 cause your surgery is next month...
If I were you, I'd make sure I was 100000% absolutely sure and sold on this doctor. I realize they are charging $4000 only but you can find doctors that charge $4500 to $5000 too. Since they accept their deposits ONLY THROUGH A WIRE TRANSFER, if you cancel or if anything else happens, you'll never see that $1000 again. Other doctors charge a $500 deposit and use PayPal or accept credit cards which are a lot safer. Believe you me, Henry was extremely nice to me on the phone in the beginning then turned to a huge a$$____ when I wanted my money. I wish you good luck--just be careful with your money.
Let me add, don't let the fear of the "special" being over rush you into sending in your deposit. There's a lot of competition for bariatric surgery in Mexico and you'll always find a good deal.
I agree with mirsny..this will be my second surgery in Mexico and there's a lot of good drs for you to be set on just this one...good luck with who u choose..
The wire transfer is set up with a Bank of America business account which I verified is a real registered business account associated with a tax ID. I don't see a problem with it. They are just cutting out the middle man. As a business owner, Paypal charges me a 3% transaction fee for accepting payments through them. It sounds like they are just trying to cut out those additional fees by doing a wire transfer. Now, if someone asked you to do a wire transfer through Western Union, I'd worry.
No one who has actually had surgery with Dr.Quinones has had any issues. I feel like this people like myself who are on a really limited budget and still want a great experience are very happy with DR.QUINONES. I HAVEN'T MEET ONE PERSON WHO HAS HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH DR.QUINONES on this forum or any other. I understand Mirnsy had a bad refund check but the issue she had was with the administrative part it was not with the actual doctor. Minus her issue and what do you really have to say about Dr.Quinones? I had surgery with Dr.Quinones and being I paid and had the surgery with the doctor and stayed with him I HAD NO BAD EXPERIENCE. At the end of the day I have no regrets, no complications. Yeah I could have paid 4500 or more but why pay that amount when I can pay less and get everything everyone else got paying more? I know everyone is entitled to their opinions but @gemini IF YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO HAVE THIS SURGERY, and you know Quinones is who you want to have it with there should be no worries. Maybe you might want to read other members threads about their experience, http://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/g...-quinones.html.
Well my experience was the best. I had no problems what so ever. I actually paid him the $4000.00 when i got there. Im with Phoenix I could have paid $4500.00 but I did my research for 2 months before i did the surgery and other websites and blogs have very good review with dr. sergio Quinnones. I don't know why everyone is scared. Hell I know ppl that have had it done in the states and have died so its a chance you take and this has been the best $4000.00 I have ever spent. You pick your doctors based on your research. some ppl say go to this docotr, some ppl say go to that doctor but hell they all doing the same thing. That is all!!!!
I ACTUALLY HAD SURGERY WITH DR. QUINONES and I paid $1000 down wire transfer to Bank of America and $3000 when I got there. I had the best experience and the best care I could have asked for. I went by myself and had NO PROBLEMS what so ever. Everybody that has acutally had surgery with him, has NOTHING BAD TO SAY. I own my own business and mistakes happen in business, it is a fact of life, from what Henry told me, they were trying to rectify the refund situation with the gal that had the mishap. There are issues in business, that is a FACT of life and the hazard of running a business. Please don't let it detour you. I thought that the hospital, doctors and nurses were all TOP notch and I would recmmend anyone and everyone to Dr. Quinones and his staff. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I will fill you in on anything I can answer!! Hope this helps! Good Luck!!
To rectify the issue would be to give me my refund. I'm just warning people not to send over $1000 to them because they'll never see their money again if something happens or they change their minds.
Also, what causes internal bleeding after surgery? Although kiki70 raves about Quinones, I wouldn't want to have two surgeries within four days so keep that in mind when deciding.
