anyone have any pill taking tricks?

I had my surgery in june and I still can't get myself to take the vit. 4 times a day like the dr wants...anyone know anygood tricks? Thanks ...sara

Try taking with a smoothie, the thickness helps to get it down easier.

My bariatric dietician has us on multivites and calcium (1500 mg) 3x a day and I buy them at Costco and Trader Joe's I just got my 6 month labs done and everything looks good so it must be working...they also tell us where to buy the cheapest vitamins and the majority of them do not come from the hospital pharmacy.

In addition I take other supplements (B1 once a day, sublingual B12 3x a week, and Vitamin D3 (the latter my choice)

I use chewable Centrums. Chew one up before breakfast and one before dinner. Fruity berry flavour. Can't see any reason why with vitamins you'd need to spread it out four times a day.

If by vitamins, you mean Calcium/D3 then you absolutely have to spread them out. Your body can only absorb a certain amount each time you take them. We are supposed to have two hours between multis and Calcium/D3 pills.

Typically I do, multi first thing in morning. Calcium midmorning, calcium with lunch, multi with dinner and calcium a couple hours after dinner but at least an hour before going to bed.

I find this works because the chewable Calcium/D3 pills also work as an antacid which helps out my stomach.

I take a once/daily multi vitamin that is chewable. I order them online, it's a bariatric vitamin on (procarenow dot com) couldn't post a URL? with this vitamin, the only other vitamin I have to do is calcium 3x/daily. The viactiv chews are very good.

I do chewable calcium with d in am, b12 sublingual in am. No multivitamin. Labs have all been within normal limits over the last year. All docs are different when it comes to diet and supplements.

...thus it shouldn't be a surprise that some Rx (It's the dieticians that are in charge of this w/ my healthplan) vitamins 3x a day and some don't!

Ok yes thay told me to take vit 3x a day multivitimins. And iorn and sulfate and vit d at a different time pluss I'm on warferen (abloodthinner) so I am supost to take pills many times a day but I can bearly remember once a day and I can't mix them all so I'm wondering how.you guys get urselves to take them pills multiple times a day? I just can't seam to remember ...and the whole breakfast and lunch thing i m not hungery so I don't always eat ...I know I should but if I'm not hungery I don't eat ...my dr is not to happy with me about that as well... thanks sara ...it won't let me delete thais miss spelled word sorry > miltipule

i would try carrying a container of your daily pills with you at all times, and set multiple recurring alarms on your phone. Works for me!
