    Arrow Time off work?

Can anyone tell me how long they took off of work? My surgeon was vague and said once I feel better, which doesn't help much! - I have a desk job, so can handle a little discomfort -anyone care to share their experience and how long they stayed off work?

I just told my boss, I'd be off one week. However, I think I am going to go in and work on Monday for just a partial day. Then, I'm going to work from home the rest of the week. I feel great except for the one incision that is pretty painful. I can't stay up moving around for very long before my side starts hurting.

I took 5 weeks off, just to make sure I was recovered completely! Some people go back too quickly, and they get tired very quickly because they didn't master the protein eating and fluids intake schedule. You are the best judge of how you're feeling, and when you are ready to take on the working world again. Be good to yourself, and best of luck to you!

One week after operation, i was walking up stairs already! The more you lay down and don't get your body moving the more pains and discomfort you have! Dont forget to walk as much as you can, dont force your self but the more the better coming from a experience person whose been through the op.

I was back 5 days post op. I was exhausted but I was ok. I really think that getting up and moving every hour post op really helped get me mobile as soon as I did. I was up walking the halls of the hotel the very next day after surgery.

I had my surgery on a Friday and was back to work on Wednesday. I have to admit I wish I could have taken the rest of the week off. On Friday (1 week post Op) I ate lunch, then put my feet up becuase I was not feeling well, the next thing I knew it was about 30 minutes later and the person in the next cube was laughing his but off becuase I was snooring up a storm. I get tired towards the end of the days really fast.

My Dr. (during the Seminar that I attended) said "2 Weeks" is the recommended time off, and that is what I told my boss when I returned to work the next day. She asked me to wait to have the surgery until January (which is our slower time). a) I hate to wait, though I assume it may take that long to get through this process and b) I don't get paid time off ... so being out is definitely going to be a financial struggle. Oh Well, I'm feeling confident that it will be worth it!

I am coming to the end of two weeks off, and feel ready to be back next week. My job is mostly sitting at a desk or talking to clients so I should be fine.

I had surgery Friday morning was planning on going Monday but was tired so went Tuesday for about 6 hours came home and slept then went back FT Wed on. I have to get in and out of my truck all day long so that was the only issue I had but I wore a abdominal binder and that made a huge difference for both working but getting a good night sleep. So I went back to work on day 4.

My surgeon said off 2-6 weeks, whatever I felt was necessary. I would LOVE to have 6 weeks off, but just can't do it. I originally thought I would do 2, but the more I thought about it, I'm taking 3 and that is what I told my boss last week.

12 days. I went during a 2-week spring break and I didn't want anyone at work to know. It worked. I came back like nothing had happened. Yes, I was a little tired the first week back, but I managed, and I do not have an exclusively desk job. I have a desk but I'm usually on my feet, running to and fro all day, with no breaks. I work from 7:30-5:30 or 6. I managed better than I expected.
