Have you tried locking the food away and hiding the key.
nope I would hope I wouldn't have to do that
You'd have to hope you didn't remember where the keys were...
I take Ambien and I'm fine-I sleep like a dead person most of the time but once in awhile I take it and it works as Rx'd. I've heard lots of stories about people doing ALL kinds of things in a sleep state, so I'd keep it as a case by case basis.
Yes I have done it since I was sleeved, it was in my early recovery stage and I ate enchiladas and threw it all up..still have no desire to have enchiladas. I usually will get chips or smaller snacks though. It doesn't happen a lot no more and if it does I don't have much of anything that I think I can overheat if it continues. Oh noooo.. I didn't just get up and eat a cheesestick or Greek yogurt lol. I also changed the sleeping pill dosage. I did notice more sensitivity to all meds since surgery..

Sounds like the same mental state as sleep walking (which i guess you musta done to get to the kitchen in the first place); have you ever had a sleep study carried out and/or is that something that you'd be covered for? I had an overnight sleep clinic study done in the past because I'm a chronic light sleeper (contributed to me getting overweight I think), and it reassured me that I was primarily a worrier but all the brain activity was normal during my sleep. Video, eeg, O2 etc everything monitored (made it hard to pop to the loo though!). Unfortunately for some people, the part of your brain that is supposed to paralyse you during sleep sometimes doesn't work. I have had only two incidents of sleep walking in my life, both times I was sick with a really high temperature.
Like you say, good that being sick woke you up!
I have absolutely no idea why your would eat in your sleep. But do you go to bed hungry? Maybe this is your body telling you it wants more food. If this keeps happening deffinately talk to you Dr. I would try eating your last meal just before bed time so you are not getting hungry during the night.
Anyway I hope it was a one time deal.
thanks, I try to eat right before I go to sleep so it doesn't happen, as well as keep a light snack near my bed if I wake up. I don't think I would do well with a sleep study, cause I couldn't sleep if I knew I was being observed.
