I also have a desk job, and went back after 9 days with no problem. Everyone is different. Good Luck!!

I am going back to work Monday after taking 4 weeks off with full disability pay- i lucky i didn't have to use my sick or vacation time. I work at a desk job but commute is up to 3 hours round trip in traffic. So it's a long day. But I'm ready to go back.

Because I have disability insurance and even though I have a desk job it is a very stressful one that would not allow 30 minutes to eat a meal I took 6 weeks off. I am so glad I did. I felt awesome the first 2 weeks following surgery and then started having problems I developed a ulcer. I was glad to know I did not have to go back to work for awhile and have a chance to let my ulcer heal. Good thing because for over a week I was only able to get in 20 grams of protein which left me exhausted.I believe it is a personal choice. If you can afford to take 6 weeks do it, pamper yourself and get to know you new stomach.

I went back after one week. But it was tough. I have a desk job, but just walking and standing hurt alot. I have no more pain, at 3 weeks. Wish I had stayed home longer.
