    Hi Ian,
I'm having my sleeve done in July at Spire Manchester with Mr Li for about £9000 (although I'm waiting for the contract so it might end up a little more - who knows? I chose Spire partly because it's v close to home but also their after-care service sounds really good. Best of luck with wherever you decide to have it done

There was no way i could wait for the NHS ( Joint and back problems left me in a chair) , as there was no guarantee I would even be approved, not enough places for Bariatric and the sleeve was new too.... So I paid 10 grand and went private.... bye bye savings.... hello wee me x

Hi Ian, I'm in the U.S. but I just want to say I loved the UK show Supersize vs. Superskinny. I thought watching it would scare the cheat out of me, but it didn't. I thank God for my sleeve!

I had my sleeve done by Dr. Selim at the University of Kansas Hospital in October of 2013. No complications whatsoever and fabulous results! I am very fortunate to work for this fantastic hospital. As a part of my employee benefit, the part not covered by insurance was picked up by my employer.

Don't worry about hurting my feelings because I guarantee you not one bit of my self esteem is tied up in your acceptance.

Hi, I chose spire hospital in Edinburgh. I had read about the surgeon and that's what swayed me! You are so tight - so many to choose from but I think you research the surgeons as they are what will make or break this surgery! You can have all the aftercare for a year etc etc but that ain't any use if the surgery was poorly done!!! Good luck with researching.....

You are lucky!! I width I could have - I'd be £10k richer lol. Where I live, you get removed from list if you lose weight but then if put on you get removed too! Think it's a bit of a postcode lottery really. Well done you and hope all going well....

Op was postponed by 2 days & went in on 27th Nov. Had mine done on NHS as a patient at Guys& St Thomas'. My diabetic consultant referred me & its been 2 & half years but I am now 3 days post op. Because of a patient backlog the hospital brought in specialist bariayric surgeon Prof. Rubino & to ease bed situation surgery carried out at Kings College. Maybe I shouldn't say this but I was very lucky as lack of beds meant kings put me in their private ward. I was in 2 nights & home now recovering. I have had previous serious health problems (bowel cancer, CES the 2 major things - now clear thankfully !) This surgery is not easy & reminiscent of my previous bowel surgery. Getting fluids in is difficult cos I just don't feel like wanting to have anything - but I'm trying.

I had mine done in Spires southampton by Mr van den Bossche. I've now lost 7 1/2 stone and I'm a 18 months post op - best decision I ever made! It cost me £9,000 x
