    Default 2 week post op

Went to see my Dr for two week post op, 28lbs gone!!! And I get to eat!!! Cottage cheese, refried beans, baby meat sticks-do not quite know how that will go, oatmeal, pudding-have to make it, thought I could buy snack packs-nope. Not any protein in those! Greek yogurt!!! And I have a question, I can have the cream of chicken, celery, mushroom, broccoli, do I have to strain these? Or has anyone tried them blended? And the refried beans, how do you eat them? Plain?
    Thank you!

I'm 3 weeks out. My plan requires the cream soups to be strained - but I haven't tried it because I can't eat cream soups (lactose issues). I have had other soups - my partner made a vegetarian cabbage potato soup which I pureed in the blender with no problem.

I do eat a lot of refried beans though - I put about 1 tbsp of low fat shredded cheddar on top - my dr. allows cheese at this point. You might also try lentils prepared with indian spices (Dahl) pureed. At this point I want anything with flavor that does not make me feel like a "patient".

I hate creamed soups so I ate egg drop soup and broccoli and cheese soup (I used my teeth and chewed it good)
I also ate the Pintos and Cheese at Taco Bell and that was good...it a $1

You will figure out what works best for you..it just takes time

Congrats and welcome to the sleeved side..

Ann2, I am feeling much better than my first post op post. Now I am trying to figure out how to get all my protein in with food and stay hydrated with the no drinking 15 min before and 45 min after eating. I love, love my water!! Thank you for asking!

So glad you can have some food now!

I keep meaning to buy some refried beans at the grocery. Trying to mix things up a bit as I have been developing some lactose sensitivity issues myself. I can still eat cheese or milk, just not NEAR as much as I was. I had never finished a gallon of milk by myself, but I did the first week/10 days I was allowed to have dairy products. It was too much for my body to deal with. So now I have switched to using soy/almond/coconut milk in my protein drinks (or water) and things are working out better.
