You can also try ricotta mixed with splenda and vanilla or almond extrac. No carbs, to me it tastes like the inside of a cannoli

It is very normal to stop loosing weight but u r still loosing inches. Im not loosing much but didin the begining. I doubled up on B vitamins and it helps with being so tired. Missing food is normal too. I really missed it during weeks 2-4 post op but now I can eat alot of different foods and I find ohter things to do to fill up my time. You will get through this! You will still get to do things you used to do, its just gna take some time.

One you eat normal food and not as tired, you will feel better. I don't even remember I have the operation sometimes. Only when I try to eat too much then I remember.

I did not take a B12 supplement before my sleeve a couple of weeks ago and once I started the day after surgery I have had more energy than I did before the sleeve. So I recommend you start taking it everyday - it melts under the tongue - my doctor says I will have to take it for the rest of my life along with the calcium citrate (1500 mg per day) an iron pill, two multi vitamins per day. If liquids go down OK then try Isopure drinks - they have 40 grams of protein so just two of those a day would get your protein in. I do one a day, one premixed shake a day for another 32 grams and then my food brings in the rest.

I too felt pretty bad afterward because it seemed tht nothing was going down (even water). It truly does get better and when you are finally able to eat normal food again, you will just be eating less of it. We all have doubts at first (most of us), but I agree with the others that it is so very much worth it!!

I'm having a very crap day today, I'm sick and tired of all the liquids and want to bite something. My scars are itching like crazy and my calf's are sore from those surgical stocking!!!! and to top it all off I'm sure I'm not getting enough protein.

You voiced exactly what I felt and at times still do feel. I could eat what ever I wanted and lots of it before the surgery. It has been 8 months since my surgery and I have lost 80 pounds. My physical looks have changed, but the food beast inside just wants to be satisfied. Even now I have to listen to my stomach when it gives me the "don't eat" any more signal. Just around the time mark you indicated I understood that this new food intake plan is for life - and yes it depressed me very much. However, now there were scores of people watching me for what and how much I ate and how much weight might be coming off I stuck to the plan. It does get better as you begin to leave the initial foods behind and can add variety to your diet. Hey, I left the hospital weighing more than when I went in before the surgery - and that was discouraging. Now I have reached the no more weight loss in the last 4 weeks and I hav to push through this - it is a series of events to get through. I kind of try to look ahead, figuring this too will pass. You got through the surgery and as I look back over the last 8 months, the surgery and week right after it was the most brutal part of the process. Go ahead and feel hungry and frustrated here with us - we understand and also feel better when small battles have been won. Now I promise myself that I will enjoy the first 3-4 bites of food and then I have tasted it and can be finished. Enjoy.

    Just a little update:
I am feeling much better. I am able to eat cottage-cheese now and that helps a lot because 1. I love cottage cheese and 2. it has a lot of protein
I am also taking vitamins and extra B12. I am still not sure if it wasn't a mistake, but at least I feel better. And I am not stepping on any scale

    Thanks to everyone

Glad you are feeling better Tina! It does help when you can start eating...I wouldn't say i regretted it in the beginning, but it was definitely much harder! Food hurt, fluids hurt and I swore I was staying on a full liquid diet FOREVER!! Now that I'm past that, I can pretty much eat whatever I want 3 months out except bread, it still gives me issues...but that's probably a good thing . My hubby had a freak out with his about 2 - 3 weeks out...but he's probably better with it than I am now...and we're talking MAJOR freak out! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and baby those open wounds!

SO glad you are feeling better! I am glad you like cottage cheese. I know eating some mushies helped me feel better. I also was able to eat some soups with some substance finally and that really helped me feel better. That first month-6 weeks is hard but I think most of us will agree it gets much better as time goes on. Hugs!

So glad you are feeling better! I have to admit that some days I still regret it too but as I SLOWLY lose this weight, the less I feel that way. I love cottage cheese too and that got me by those first weeks - lately I've been having it with tomatoes because I still have some fresh ones in the garden - sure am going to miss them! Hang in there - like many have said, the first weeks are brutal but when you start adding in solid food, you will feel much better. Keep us posted!!

Get to a doctor for a check up! I had a MASSIVE INFECTION after my surgery -- It wasn't until my son kicked me while I was changing a diaper and the infection burst and started to ooze... I felt SO MUCH BETTER after that... then I was on antibiotics and that helped!
I'm 9 months out and down 73 pounds -- Sometimes I think I should be LESS, but then I KNOW that my body DOES need to adjust... I found that breaking 200 pounds took a month or more... then the 190's didn't seem to last a week! So if it is making you miserable -- DO NOT get on the scale -- Let your body heal, and give your self time to adapt!! It will get better!!
