Haven't had surgery yet... but I'm looking foward to alot of egg and chicken salad. The amounts you can eat are so small, that depending on how much you make, it should last a few days.

I'm on pureed and I am eating any kind of deli meats cut very thin, tuna fish, salmon, cottage cheese, any kind of soups, fresh fruit like banannas, watermelon, strawberries, sugar free jello and pudding, egg white omelets, very soft vegetables like steamed broccoli and peas.

Thanks for the ideas. I can't wait for a little more variety. In the pre-op stage I put banana in my protein shake and the taste was much better. In the puree stage will the bananna count towards my 2oz of food, three times a day? Did you just cut them small and use a food processor?

YES I am 14 days out and that first week was a KILLER !! All I thought about was food food and more food!! It will get better as the gas moves and you start getting more room in your stomach. Just try keeping popsciles, broth, water and protein in your body at this stage. I had problems with pain so I didn't follow as much of my proteins and water as I should. I am doing better now but it's still a struggle to get as much water in as I need. I started on my hot cereals and pureed cream soups and that helped curb some of the hunger for me as well.

I start the pureed stage on Sunday and I can't wait. I have had some pureed foods already in my soups and some very softly mashed potatoes with broth from gumbo over them. I want to try the deli meats I like thin sliced are you putting them in a blender or just eating them out of the package? What about the tuna and other stuff are you blending it or just eating it as is. I was told no fresh fruit for 4 -6 months. I tried some steamed veggies without puree'ing them and they came right back up so I am not ready for that yet. But I did eat a wonton from my wonton soup and that didn't hurt me. So I thought the veggies would work but that's a NO GO just yet. How are you doing the veggies and fruits so soon?

I am not blending anything, my doctor told me to just chew everything reallly fine. I chew it up until its hardly nothing....I have noticed that a lot of doctor's meal plans are different. But these are the types of foods that he said was ok......

Yeah I have seen that many doctors have varied plans. I have started eating some foods now like mashed potatoes, chicken in a can, cream of broccoli, asapargus, potato, celery and shrimp soups, wontons in wonton soup with a little bit of noodles, peanut butter and a few crackers. So I guess you just have to try small amounts and see what works and what doesn't. I tried a california roll as I love sushi but that didn't sit so well so I just picked the crab out and at it with a little bit of avacado and it was OK. I will try some of the things you have tried just to see if I can get it in. I am not doing so well with getting in my protein with the shakes so I figure if I can start eating more things with protein I can get off these shakes. I am just not a shakes person. LOL
