I know you might say that I am not overweight.. 82.6kg.. but.. I have lost 55kg a few years ago and I have been on Duromine constantly till recently.. not good for the health and not easy to get a dr to prescribe. I have been gaining at a rate of 4kg's per month and my GP referred me

Will have a gastric band op on 8/10/2010. The surgeon did not want to do the sleeve coz I am not "morbidly obese"

Going on the Optifast or Optislim in 3 weeks time.

I know I can overcome this with all your help and help from above.

Have you considered a second opinion? Seems like you aren't getting your first choice as far as the type of weight loss surgery you would prefer. Do you think another surgeon would recommend a gastric sleeve?

Hi - I am seeing Charlie Moss in Canberra. Have heard good reports through forums about him, but appointment is 9th Sept. I am also in the 80's (unpleasantly at 87 at present), but have been very large in the past. Have kept my weight under control through exercise for years (after losing like 38Kilos) but now have back problems and the weight is creeping on.... so goddamn scary the thought of going back to where I once was!
Have to say I am worried about the "you can't have a sleeve" statement, as from what I have read the band offers a lot of problems. Jap

and btw I really enjoy getting to see people meetup from meeting on the forum, hope that pans out for you guys.
Maybe organized meetups is something we can start doing once our numbers grow and the site gets big enough where it makes enough sense where enough people would attend. Then again, 1 on 1 meetups are great also. Point is it feels great to see people start friendships and actually meet in person just because of the site.
