Obesity SUCKS!

I am curious to hear about everyone's health complications/disorders/problems that obesity has caused. (if you care to share) This is my list:

1. Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs
2. Thyroid
3. Acid reflux
4. Depression
5. High blood pressure
6. Abnormal menstrual cycles

We have some similar health issues. My list is:

9. Fibromyalgia (Okay, so it's not because of my weight but my weight makes it much worse)

I'm sure there must be more that I had, but I hesitated to go visit the doctor. Hated the dreaded scale and that made me not want to go for an office visit. I also hated taking my blood sugars even though I had insulin controlled (never controlled) diabetes. I would dread the morning sugars because they were always high, no matter what I did. Now they're normal everytime Ain't this sleeve a miracle in the way it allows us to take charge of our health?? Continued success to all!

Oh yes...forgot about the urinary incontinence. Persistant back pain. Arthritis. Leg cramps. Hot. Sweaty. WOW...and the list goes on!

Thankfully, other than decreased mobility, I don't have any health problems yet. I have osteoarthritis and chronic Lymes so I'd be achy anyway. I do have gall stones. Can I blame obesity for that? I'm worried about insurance agreeing since I don't have co-morbidities.

Just wondering if any of this will improve with weight loss.

I consider myself very lucky that having had a BMI of just over 40, I've never had any health co-morbidities. For some unknown reason, in spite of being overweight and constantly highly stressed for years at work, my BP has never been over 120/80, all my blood work has always been normal etc.

BUT, I can feel my knees beginning to ache going up the stairs, and my father had a stroke at 56. I don't want a future with impaired mobility and early sudden death.

My health is the very reason I'm considering the surgery. The neuropathy, depression and fatigue is the worst. The Diabetes is the hidden monster.

Oddly after having a zillion different tests, i'm not all that unhealthy. no high bp, no diabetes, no heart problems, no problems with high cholesterol . HOWEVER, i am incredibly miserable. I can barely lift myself out of a chair, and I can certainly not walk for extended distances. This is not because my heart is strained, its simply a matter of physics. I can't lift my enormous belly to stand.

i have:
extreme lower back pain
arthritis in knees and ankles
excessive snoring (never snored in my life until i hit 230...but no apnea)
stress incontinence

my heaviest was 258
bmi 46
