Burps that smell like rotten eggs

I'm 12 days post op! I keep having horrible burps that smell like rotten eggs! My surgeon prescribed me meds. But I'm worried and embarrassed about the smell and the people I'm around. Has anyone else had/have this problem? I was told it's called Ketosis!, and it means I am burning alot of fat! But I also heard someone say that it could lead to kidney failure! How long will this go on and when is it a go time to mention it to my doctor. Please help!

Just keep communicating with your doctor about it. Google some home remedies as well. If it is just ketosis, you can get some peppermint oils, soaps, and lotions to help with those things.

I'm 10 days out and my breath could start a fire. I brush 3 or 4 times a day. I'm told it gets better. As long as you don't have discomfort you'll be fine. I understand that ketotic gases can even emanate from the skin. Now that's something to look forward to.
