I am 4 weeks post op gastric sleeve and I just wanted to say to anyone considering doing it or are on the fence about it to JUST DO IT! It is the best second chance I've ever given myself. The pain/nausea was not that bad, I was only off my meds a few days, gatorade was a life saver in the beginning, I had 1 depressed day a few weeks ago and that is it. I've done everything they've said about what to eat, fluids and shakes and everything is healing and moving along. I did have some rough throw up days but that passed too. I've lost over 38 lbs. Last week I started eating real food and I gained weight. I was not shocked because I had read about that possibly happening on this site. I measured myself instead and found out I had lost 2", 3", 4" in 2 weeks! I had also written down my measurements from reading about that on this site. I started walking 15min, then 30 and now I was for an hour every morning on the beach with my dogs. My friends who don't know I did this are saying things like, did you change your hair? You look different, You look so healthy. My friends that do know are like SERIOUSLY? I've gone down 3 dress sizes and 4 pant sizes. My cholesterol went from over 300 to 189. I'm off my lipid medication already. My blood pressure is normal. My doctors are pleased. I did the Mexico route and would do it all over again if asked. The gift to myself is just outrageous. I just started dating a new man I met. He knows the new me!
