Almond milk and protein shakes

Wow, what a difference using almond milk, unsweetened, instead of skim milk with protein shakes! I use Unjury chocolate splendor. 100 calories for the protein ad 40 for the milk. Love it. Think I'll try freezing some into pops!

I love unsweetned Almond Milk! I've been using it for months now. Great ideas! I've tried the vanilla EAS protein powder in it with some strawberries or bananas and it's very good. I haven't been sleeved yet but experimented with some things.

I use Calorie Countdown milk. Lower in calories than skim but much more protein than almond milk.

My problem with Almond Milk is it only has 1 gram of protein. I use HEB Mootopia lactose free milk, 1. because I need it(lactose bothers me in the mornings) and 2. it has added protein 12 grams per cup vs 8 grams in regular skim milk.

Calorie Countdown is made by Hood dairy. It is available at Kroger and Harris Teeter in my area. I think Wegmans too, but I'm not sure.

Calorie Countdown also comes in chocolate flavor that you'd never know was a diet product!

I like the idea of getting more protein. I haven't heard of this product before. Is there a particular store that carries it. Health food store? Please share. I like this idea. I've been using Almond Milk as well, but am open to trying new things.

It's made by Hood, a dairy in New England. Their products are sold as far away as FL.
If your store carries Hood brand milk, you can ask them to stock Calorie Countdown. If you go to the Hood website, you may be able to find a local retailer.
I like it because it is not watery as skim milk, it has a whole milk texture (which is awesome in the chocolate version).

I only have my shakes with 40 calorie almond milk b/c it does make a world of difference!
