Default Vitamin + protein supplment questions, advice.

I started buying some protein supplements. The first that I purchased are the Body Fortress whey protein power from walmart (vanilla, cookies n cream). Has anyone else tried this particular protein, and any recommendation for some other affordable brands/products?

I also had a vitamin question. I've been told to find a chewable (if possible) multivitamin to take twice daily. CVS currently has a BOGO offer on all their vitamins, and I would love to take advantage of it. I found a chewable Spectravite for adults (Dietary Supplement. Multivitamin/Multimineral with antioxidant Vitamins C, E & beta-carotene.) and was wondering if this would be OK. Of course I'm going to double check with my nutritionist, but again I thought someone might have had experience with these in particular.

I'd also love any affordable vitamin recommendations that you have for chewable/liquid etc.
    I need a multivitamin, calcium citrate w/D, Vitamin B12....

    Thanks in advance.

I bought all my vitamins, through Amazon.com!! Big bottles of calcium and multivitamin!! My calcium is a chewy fruit block and my multivitamin is a gummy!! I also take aB12, that is time release under the tongue, but my biotin is a capsule!! That is all the vitamins, I have to take!! As for protein, I bought my Whey protein from Walmart, plus I bought some EAS Edge and Atkins Advantage!! My surgery is in 10 days!! Good luck with your Sleeve

Hey Cory! I went online and was able to get a lot of free samples. I didn't want to spend the money on something that I wouldn't like taste-wise. My favorite shakes are Syntrax Nectar. They are low carb & high protein. They actually taste really good. I ended up buying all of my protein shakes/powders online b/c it was so much cheaper. I hope that helps!

Well right now my fave for Proten Shakes are the Pure Protein shakes. Keep an eye out they go on sale at Target. They are pre-mixed and go down pretty good. I also have the Isopure drinks. They are kinda expensive but they are 40 grams of protien and ya just can't beet that. GNC had them on sale when I bought them. Also if you sign up as a GNC gold member you get a discout as well. I hope this helps! Good luck on your sleeve!

I love the gummy vitamins but get in trouble with them. If I want a snack, I just pop a few (2-4) gummies. I've probably been over my limit for the day but it cures my cravings. They have gummy calcium (make sure you get the Citrate ones), gummy fiber and gummy multivitamin. Haven't found gummy iron though.....(per pharmacist, they don't make them).
As for shakes, I use Herbalife -- lots of protein, vitamins and minerals and taste good. I had labs last week and they came back Great! They have a couple of "shake shops" (nutritional clubs) here and I usually get one or two a day -- lots of different flavors (almond joyful, banana split, carmel cheesecake...)
I know we're supposed to take Iron, but I don't d/t the constipating effect. The only time I notice that I'm "low" is at the TOM.

Hey! I went to a whole bunch of different websites. The ones I can remember off of the top of my head are: bariatricadvantage (dot) com; bariatricchoice (dot) com; celebratevitamins (dot) com; bariatric fusion, and I am sure that there are a lot more out there. I hope that helps!

Online is definately the more economical way to go for purchasing protein. I have done most research and shopping of my either online or in the local health food stores. There is also a brand of protein powder that Sam's Club sells--that many people rave about in posts. Uninjury is also an excellent product. As far as bariatic designated protein, I have an attitude about them which relates to the the weight loss product industry. A.K.A. charging more for products based on a specific solution

I have been taking liquid vitamens (Nature's Source), B12 drops, calcuim and iron (Floridix).

Hello and welcome I have also not had my sleeve but am scheduled for 8/15.

As far as the protein powder I bought the EAS chocolate one ftom Walmart 9.99 and I am adding extracts for some variety.

The vitamins at CVS are perfect. I have been using them for about 2 months and my nutritionist approved them last week. I also got mine buy 1 and 1 1/2 off. Stoced up enought for 6 months.

    Good luck
