Anti-depressants and weight gain post sleeve

Is there anybody who's already been sleeved and currently taking the Anti-depressant Lexapro? If so has your weightloss progress been affected? I've heard soo many horror stories about how Lexapro causes weight gain that I'm afraid to take it but I feel like i need it!!

I took lexapro for a couple of years and I took myself off of it, I gained so much weight and i slept all the time, but it helped me control my anger and deal with things better,but I don't want to take it anymore

I would recommend that you review your needs with your doctor. If you need treatment, there should be other possibilities. This is a stressful transition and I imagine anxiety could increase at times. Maybe talk to a couple of pharmacists then approach your physician. Good luck. I imagine the positive aspects of loosing weight will help with the depression. Take care!!

Im on lexapro and getting ready to be sleeved. Have you found that it is hindering your progress? It looks like you are doing good from your tickers..

Thanks Mike...I actually stopped cold turkey with the Lexapro just before my surgery...I wasn't on it very long but I have noticed a difference in how I now feel without it...I'm really considering restarting and hopefully it won't affect my progress

I dont have a choice... I have to stay on it (or maybe different one) If not I become a raving maniac!
