Hi all......I am ready to start exercising.....I will most likely start water aerobics.....what other exercise do you suggest this soon after surgery.....
I am not post-op yet but my when I told my surgeon I signed up for an aquatic boot camp he told me no pool water for 30 days post-op.
And I plan on doing the aquatic boot camp, tennis, walking, running...etc
Heaviest: 387 pounds (1999)
Weight last appointment prior to surgery: 265 (6/29/12)
Weight beginning of two-week full liquid/high protein diet: 265 (7/25/12)
Weight day of surgery (8/8/12): 253.2
ONEDERLAND: 12/10/12: 198
100 pounds lost 7/3/13
Reached goal weight of 160 pounds on 9/9/13 (1 year, 1 month, and 1 day post-op)
I would suggest finding things to do at home so there are no excuses. At least that's really worked for me since I have two young kids and a busy job. I used the Wii and did Walk it Out for quite awhile after surgery. Worked my way from 2,000 steps to over 11,000 and loved the game feel while just walking. Then, when I tired of that I began using Leslie Sansone's Walking DVDs. I'm still using her DVDs and walk anywhere from 1-5 miles---yesterday I did 7 between two sessions. Her walking DVDs also include the use of weighted balls and resistance bands so it is a great workout. I also am now using Kettlebell, Zumba on kinects, Biggest Loser on the Wii......I just love my options and never have to leave my house nor use weather as a reason not to work out. Good luck to you!!!!
