For those who have read my saga and that is what is has been, I am hoping that I am getting to the final chapters.
On Monday I was admitted to UC Davis, Sacramento, with vomiting and severe dehydration. It was found I had a stricture between my stomach and large intestine. After further studies they found the space was down to 1 cm. and food was pooling in the stomach. There was some flow but it was so small I was getting little nutrtion. Yesterday I had it ballooned to 2 cm and also had a central line called a picc which literally delivers IV calories. I will stay on this pic for 6 weeks with it feeding me. I am now back to clear liquids again-beginning number 3 if you count the sleeve, then the hernia.
If things fall apart in the next few days, meaning the ballooning doesn't keep the space open and I start vomiting again, I will have a temporary stent put in to train the intestine to stay open. I am hoping this does not happen.
This has been a very difficult journey but, I am hopeful I might be turning the corner. Unfortunately this is not a quick fix so only time will tell. I will have to be patient yet again.
By the way, according to my new doctor, this is the worst complcation of the sleeve. I am among the 1% !
Cheers
