Daily Exercise-You Getting Any?

I joined a gym late last week and had my meeting with the personal trainer today. OMGsh...I haven't moved like that in probably 20 years. I feel good but hurt all at the same time. I have a class on Saturday that teaches me how to use all the machines, but I am thinking I need to see him more often to keep me in line.

I love to see all the walking. It's a great exercise especially this time of year.

Took 20 mins zumba and an hour spinning tonight.

Sunday I did about 45 minutes on the mini-elliptical. Monday was an off day as I worked late ans then had an appointment for a massage...ahhhh. Tonight was Zumba. The gym closes early tomorrow, but I am hoping that my boss will let me leave early so I can get a workout in befor the holiday.

Busy tonight so took a spinning class this morning. Plan to go spinning tomorrow morning before the feast!

Today: Pilates and 1 hour of walking. Tomorrow is a 10K. Obviously I've done 10K's and a half-marathon this year already, but I'm going to be 4.5 weeks out from a tummy tuck and 6 weeks out from my shoulder dislocation, plus it is going to be about 15 degrees out. Still, I'm aiming for a faster MPH than my half in September, so my goal is to finish at 9 minute miles, or about 56 minutes.

Everybody's kicking butt and taking names! I did a little cardio Hip Hop Abs workout today, with weighted gloves and ankle weights. O.o I likely will be sore tomorrow. I have a bum shoulder and it doesn't care for the weighted gloves much!

Today was the "Berbee Derby" 10K (6.2) , I finished in 57 minutes, or about 9:30 miles which is fine for 4.5 weeks post-op but not my end goal. Very fun, ran it step for step with my best friend. It was cold and I have no more padding! I'm looking into heated glove options, when it gets below 25 degrees and there's no sun and it's windy, I can layer appropriately to stay warm body-wise but my fingers are painfully cold and I'm wearing thick snowmobiling gloves. My friend recommended that I get these heated packs and put them between two layers of running gloves (buy a size larger on the outer pair) and I may try that. All the "battery" ones seem to be for motorcyclists.

Also, walked about 90 minutes, 45 with the dog and the rest to and from the course.

I've been out deer hunting all.week, so my walking has been slow and so COLD. Its at least a mile toand from our unsheltered tree stand. So I am posting a 2die mile walk everyday this week. I know its helping b/c i am losing weight. Although in this cold I am shivering it off this week. I am going again tomorrow afternoon & all day Sunday.
Does anyone take a day off from exercising? I try to go everyday but I haven't slept well since surgery 3-4and hours a night and I am getting really tired while I exercise. Any suggestions?

I've been bad about posting over the holiday, but I've been a bit active.

Julia, I'd love to do the Berbee with you next year! It was cold but I'm sure you know that being outside deer hunting 30 minutes away. My sleep was a mess the first few months -- so many changes physically and mentally. For energy I was drinking coffee and making very energetic iTunes mixes.

Friday - 50 minute Pilates class, lots of walking in DT Chicago, swimming in hotel pool
Saturday - walking in DT Chicago (a few miles with my niece on my shoulders) and swimming in hotel pool
Sunday (today) - 50 minute Pilates class, 90 minutes and 9 miles of running

Have a half-marathon this upcoming Sunday in Dallas, going there on a trip with friends. I have no expectations on time given that I'm 5 weeks out from my tummy tuck and still definitely recovering.

Had my year anniversary to being sleeved on Saturday. I care most about my health and I've kicked gout, metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes and high cholesterol (in addition to obesity) since my surgery. I'm happiest about that -- those gout attacks were killer and it had spread from my toe to my ankle and I had a few in my elbow which would incapacitate that arm. I don't want people to judge me by the change in my looks, size or a number on the scale. I want them to judge me by my effort which was really strong in many ways. It's been a good year. Crazy, but good. I've never gone through so many changes in my life -- house, car, stomach, body, activities and life + plastics. Just crazy.

Friday - cleaned the house and put up my Aunts Tree
Saturday - walked all over the tree farm looking for our tree (found a hole and fell too!) with the dogs
