Wow!! A lot of awesome choices you made there with all the meats and eggs...

Glad to hear you're doing so well already, you can see the sparkle in your eyes and the glow in your face that you are doing great and are happy...it's nice to see you doing well after the problems you described.

Just be careful with all the yummy and healthy vegetable based foods you bought, while they are surely healthy, sleevers tend to need the protein and the vegetables can fill you up with nutrients you are already getting from your vitamins and supplements while your body really needs the protein. I was sincerely impressed with so many of the high protein choices you had there - the tuna, the egg salad, the ham salad, the chicken and chicken liver (etc)....all excellent choices. I've had great success with the atkins shakes - try the EAS ones and look for Muscle Milk cookies and cream flavor - it's to die for!

Also heads up, vitamin water is a fine choice, but keep an eye on calories, they have been reprimanded by the government for appearing to be a water even though they have often the same calories as gatorade and powerade. Again, a fine choice and I drink them all the time, but the variety that says "zero" is obviously the best version to have - though I have them all.

Remember, especially in the beginning high PROTEIN is the most important number on everything you choose to eat...followed by as low as possible carbohydrates. Calories can be counted later when you start plateauing (some people call it stalling but I prefer plateau it's not as negative since your body is adjusting just not dropping weight)..... Your body needs protein to burn the fat and stay healthy as you lose weight, you will go into a state of "ketosis" - which is a good fat burning state. So protein good, carbohydrates bad. The mac and cheese may have to wait a month or so, but all those delicious meats, eggs and beans can go go go...yum yum yum!

Best of luck! keep up the terrific effort, it's great to watch!

Thank you so much, the vitamin water was vitamin zero. I ordered flavorless protien powder to add to the soups to get a kick of protien in their. Yes I know the protien is very important to the healing. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback.

You may not eat all that food; a lot of us stocked up and still have leftovers I'd also add Greek yogurt and cottage cheese if you like them-soft high sources of protein.

I understand, but what JJ said is important-focus on protein as you will have a very limited space to put it in. Protein helps repair and heal; it also keeps your metabolism going and is more satiating than other foods. The last may not be an issue for you now, however.

I odered a flavorless protien poweder to add to the soups and other things to add protien. the protien powder has 0 carbs and 25 grams of protien a scoop, so i will be mixing it. I will get that wed.

A stomach binder is something that goes over you stomach that is very tight so it holds everything in. It reduces the swelling. Just think of a girdle.

Oh, ok. I was wondering if it was something that would help prevent loose tummy skin. Thanks!

Henry is adorable and so are you! You look great! You got some really good things to eat that are packed with protein. My surgeon told me to avoid soups in general and no veggies for me until 6 weeks post-op. Every surgeon seems to have different guidelines and some surgeons dont have any at all! I think it is good that you got a wide variety of foods because you will be experimenting quite a bit over the next few weeks. I returned my Isopure protein powder this week. Even though it was flavorless, I could taste it. I think I am just HYPER-sensitive to things though because so many people really like to use it. Best wishes to you and keep up the wonderful success! This is a learning experience for all of us and we each have to find our own successful tricks
