I am struggling with constipation. I have tried colace, milk of magnesia, and Metamucil but it does not seem to help. Any recommendations? Any solutions?
Ouch!
Only thing that works for me is Sennakot. My obstetrician recommended it to me while I was pregnant. Works well.
Good luck!

I hated the constipation. I still struggle w/ it. I have found the thing that helps me the most is oatmeal. I eat a packet of the weight control in the morning. (Which is actually my night since I work 3rd shift) Idk where you are w/ your diet, but it helped me go ever 2-3 day instead of every 5. The dr also told me WATER WATER WATER then WALK WALK WALK. "If you dont move, your bowels dont move." I wish I had a dollar for ever time I heard that. Good luck.
I take 2 fiber gummies daily and 1/2 cap of Miralax every other day. I also worked with a D.O. that had me make a poop soup that they fed the nursing home pt's in out local town. The recipe is: 1 cup of fiber cereal (any kind), 1/2 cup of prune juice, and 1/2 cup of applesauce. Mix it together in an air tight container. Eat a couple of spoon fulls every night and it should keep you regular. The pt's got a med cup full at supper every eve. Never had issues. Sounds gross but doesnt taste that bad. Yo u want to stay away from senna and docusate as well as other meds as your bowel can become dependent on them to function. The other natural thing I know works is 1/2 of a graham cracker and 4 prunes at bedtime. I got my aunt hooked on this after her bowel surgery and many days of constipation. She swears by it now. Good luck!
