This was a main concern of mine when I said the sleeve. I was aghast at how a cousin's skin started to sag after she had liposuction and I didn't want that to happen to me.

Surgery was out of the question though. I found that your skin is very elastic and it will contract as you lose the weight. Just give it time.

Take good care of your skin. Exfoliation has been known to improve the skin's elasticity. You can also have a long hot bath every week or twice a week. In your bath, put in some sea salt. This will help draw out the toxins!

Surgery is a good idea. But there are somethings that you could try too. Aloe vera, and yeast extract would be great things to try.

Exercise works too! It doesn't have to be super athlete but some weight training and walking will work wonders!

tone muscles help tone the skin as well. but most of all it is how far you stretched your skin and your genetics and age. loose the weight and worry about it later is my thought process.

Mine didn't bounce back.. My doctor has stated that skin around the arms won't shrink back it just doesn't have the elasticity, that is why it becomes a problem spot for women when they get older (even without the weightloss). I think the younger you are the better chances you have of not having to have the surgery to remove the skin. I elected to have the abdominal skin removed and got my stomach muscles underneath stitched together again whilst there as I found the apron of skin irritating.

Fifteen years ago I had lost 95 lbs. using diet pills (not recommended by the way), and I had no problems with baggy skin. Of course, I was younger then, so I agree with Toni that your skin is more elastic if you are younger (under 40'ish). Now that I've had the sleeve, I am losing the weight faster, plus I am older now (54) and post-menopausal, and I have more weight to lose this time, so I wonder about the elasticity of my skin. But I have decided not to worry about it. I have started back at the gym (yesterday) and plan to keep up with the new exercise plan. I meet with my trainer next week. As I said in another post, I don't plan to ever wear a bikini again. So I am counting on Spanx to help me control the flabby skin. Now, if only Spanx made something for the upper arms!

I am worried about this as well. Being older (46) I know my skin does not have the elasticity it had when I was younger. Plus it has been stretched for 18 years so it will take some time for it be shrink. I don't think it will completely! I did some reading on it and this is what I found-dry brushing skin before you shower then a good quality cream all over after. Hot bath with sea salt at least once a week. Drink lot's of fluids. Of course exercise will help too. That's about all I found. Also, it can take up to a year after weight loss to have the skin shrink more so do not have surgery done for that length of time if you are considering it. I don't plan on wearing a bikini either but I do want to look good in my new clothes once I am at my goal. I will get surgery done if I have too much loose skin that is making my clothes look "lumpy".

A note for the Newbies: My doctor said no hot baths, hot tubs, or pools until after my next visit, which will be 5 weeks post-op. Those incisions have to thoroughly heal first!

A homemade skin scrub can be prepared by mixing together a cup of yogurt and some ground orange peels. This mixture can serve as one of the uneven skin tone remedies that could be prepared at home. This mixture could be applied on the skin till it becomes flaky and thick and will eventually fall off by itself when dry
Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon

One of the best ways to tackle loose skin is by using what's called a compressing garment. My wife had surgery done, plus 4 c-sections in the past, and we came across a special garment that helped tone her skin. The reason it worked was it applied pressure and heat to those tough area, helping get rid of it through the lymphatic system, mainly through the urine.. That's been a low cost way for us to see good results.. Hope this helps..
