Don't not take your arthritis medicine because it might cause weight gain! If you're disabled by pain THAT could cause a major slowdown of your system and you'd be worse off.

Talk to your doc and see if there's something else you can take, and ask about your thyroid and other concerns...you do have a primary care doc that is not the jerk you talked to last? Was that the surgeon?

maybe you need to mix it up a bit? try eating different foods, and doing different excercises?

or take a MONTH off of weighing yourself, and start that month with a WEEK of eating whatever you want. shake your metabolism up a bit.

whatever you do, you LOOK great in your pic! i wouldn't stress about the numbers if i were you...your gorgeous!

I eat less than 100 g of carbs a day. It is usually around 60 to 70g. I don't go crazy low carb because I need the carb when I do intense exercise. I think if I am very good with eating the lean protein first in each meal, there isn't really much room left for a lot of carbs anyway.

Well mine have 2 net carbs but like 22 regular carbs. Another think I was taking predisone for almost 2 months. read last that it makes me gain. Also my arthritis medicine meloxicam says it could cause weightgain. So as of today want be taking that anymore. Well I might the arthritis medicine .o also I do log all my food in fitness pal.
I eat loads of carbs but i don't count how many. The only thing i watch and control is sugar and saturated fat, anything high in those i don't touch but everything else in moderation i figure is fine as i'm down to where i want to be. Also i was told by my surgeon to not count anything just to make right food choices, he said that the amount i could eat, if i eat properly, means that i don't need to count cals etc.
I know alot of people on here watch carbs and stuff but it's something i've never done and i've lost weight just fine.

I get at most 50 a day, but 2 days a week I get under 20 so I get into ketosis. I used to do under 20 every day but I just got so tired and depressed, so now I change it up a little. I have an email in to my nutritionist because it seems like doing what we are doing, cal, carbs, protein, exercise... it would be literally impossible to not lose weight. If she comes up with anything new I'll let you know. You asked about protein bars. I took a look at the days I had a quest bar (4 net carbs I think 25 otherwise?) and it does seem I don't lose or I gain those days. Same is true of days I have vitamin water zero. Maybe the tricks (sugar free, sugar alcohol) don't work for some people?

Also grace im throwing all that Atkins crap away then. And the warden farms choclat dip isn't suppose to have calories or anything but it runs my sugar through the roof. So its got to have something in there. Propel is like chrystaal light. I have always drink it so ill give the other stuff up first and see. I didn't excersise today but we went to a theme park all day and a water park so I did get exercise. Also any suggestions on peanut butter. I crave it. Could eat it for every meal?

Tonya, I have not tried it, but I have heard many ppl talk about the powdered peanutbutter. Its on the eggface website. I LOVE peanutbutter, and need to try this. I mostly abstain, unless I had a tablesoon to my vanilla protien shake. Yummy!!

As for my calories..i eat about 1000 a day. I walk a mile a day on a bowflex treadclimer (read..the death machine..ugh). It says I burn like 400 calories. So that still a 600 cal intake a day. I eat protien first, and usually I cant eat much after. I have only lost 60 lbs in 6 months since the surgery. My doc wants more, but I am happy w/ it. I would love to lose more faster just b/c i would be skinnier faster, but I think this is better for my body.

Jade I will definitely check that out. I could eat it all day everyday. When I get a reeses craving I go get a nibble of it. I have eat about of 1200 calories today. Im sure ill gain. Another quick question. I know to loose a pound you have to burn 3500 calories. So to gain one is it the same that you have to eat 3500 calories extra. Because I promise u tomorrow the scale will go up because I eat more then 800. Weird but true.

I would question your protien bars. I'd try to get the protien from more natural sources to see if that would help. I love the convince of the bars, but they have so many other things that aren't necessary.
