This time last week i was on the operating table!!!!!

Not going to write too much about op and following few days........but can now see light at the end of the tunnel at last for losing weight....It was only yesterday (6 days after) that my outside tummy didnt hurt..but inside tummy had its first shake today and had to clean floor, self, clothes 6 times!!! literally in top hole and out bottom one!!!! Still feeling miserable, still cant bring myself to eat, BUT why Im writing this, is because just went on scale for 1st week surgerversary and have dropped 17.9 POUNDS.........of course I feel extremely fortunate for that and am looking forward to being able to eat and carry on with the losses......Thanks for listening...SARAH xxxxx

It's a terrible thing - throwing up etc. I myself have always found it to be a very rare occurrence, but I know it probably happens more often to most. I bet in another week or two, you'll be able to tolerate protien shakes. Congrats on your weight loss so far and feel better!!!

Glad to hear you are looking forward and not backwards. I haven't attempted a shake yet, sticking to skim milk and tried a tiny bit of greek yogurt today. It is getting better everyday. Your life will evolve into something beautiful.

Sarah, Wait a bit on the protein in a shake. That stuff can be really hard on the stomach. I am 4 weeks on my second surgery after a hernia and I still can't tolerate it. Start with really small amounts of liquids. I found Greek yoghurt with honey a godsend. It is higher in protein and the tummy doesn't rebel. Be patient, it will improve. B

I am curious if it's a premade shake or one that you've made up?
I'm on my first day of shakes, but I'm not using any more pre-made shakes, the sweetners in them give me all sorts of tummy trauma

I know it is rough the first days. I felt better after 10 days, way better. Eating wise it is still a struggle and I made peace with it.
It is hard but try to figure out what bothers you for the top hole. Until you do not move to soft stage liquids get in and out so not much you can do about bottom. but it will be fixed soon.
Hang in there and try to eat what you are allowed to.
