Surgery with Dr almanza was a great experience. The place it very, very clean as there is always someone cleaning, they use sterile technique except they do alcohol you where they use the EKG pads then they reuse them, no big deal there. very small building yes it is in a strip mall, on one side is office depot and across the way is more of a lingure store than an adult store. I believe there is only one OR and it is shared with 2 other Dr.s there was 11 surgeries the day I had surgery I was the very last one to go and that was 845pm. in the am before surgeries start Dr. comes up introduces self, answers questions takes pics, that will be the last time you see him unless you have complications. They do have morphine but only use it when requested. they use zofran for nausea. the nurses are in white uniform they are great, most will tell you in good english that they do not speak english but infact they do, they just try not to interact with patients more than taking care of them post op. you will have a drain that will be pulled two days post op when they tell you to breath breath. they purple drink for the xray it tasteless you do not have to down the whole bottle they also give you very nasty swallow at xray beware. any other questions id be glad to answer good luck.
cwjadall...Happy to hear somelse who did not experience a bad taste with the purple liquid. I did not find any taste to the xray liquid either. Lucky me. As (besquared) said there many great posts that will give you all the info you need. Just keep checking back in the posts, it is all there. Of course ask any questions that arise for you. We love to share. lol
Thank you! Good luck!!
