How many days post op in hospital?

I went in early on a Thursday morning and left late on a Friday afternoon. So just one night in the hospital.

I spent 2 nights in hospital after I had my sleeve, was suppose to be one night but I was very ill and throwing up a lot, also I had a bad reaction to the pain meds they gave me. Good luck! I will be 7 months post opportunity the 2nd of March and I am down 88lbs, and 184lbs since I beGan my journey January 2016! It's a lot of hard work both physically and mentally but it's beyond worth it!

Surgery Thursday morning - stayed in the recovery hotel / condo then to my own hotel room the next morning - flew home the following day

Mike, The only way for a doctor to know if you no longer need your cpap machine is to a sleep study, only way for a doctor to know 100 percent.

I had surgery in mexico and if everything is stable your discharged to the hotel were you have nursing care 24/7 and medical doctor. You stay there for 3 nights. You also still have an IV they can use to give you Iv fluids, nausea, pain and anti inflammation meds,antibiotics, two rounds with all that together then addional 2 days IV antibiotics, anti inflammation and others if needed. On fourth day you start all oral and go home. I think that is a great sytem and allows your stomach addional time to heal while getting extra help with fluids and meds in a home like setting with hospital like care. Good luck

What's bad for your health? I was just fine with the time I was there - had all of the needed leak tests and had the drain removed - got in the van and was taken to the airport to fly home. I've had an out patient tummy tuck and multiple breast reconstructions due to infections that required a mastectomy years ago. Had the surgeries, got released and came home. I was up and walking around as soon as I woke up from surgery, went to the recovery hotel / condo - slept overnite - got up and started working on my laptop the next morning, got taken to the hotel where I got settled in and went walking and shopping for a few hours. I drove myself home from the airport and was back in clients offices on Monday as usual. Not everyone needs a long time to recoup.

Mine was a same-day surgery. I was sleeved at 9:30am and discharged from the hospital at 11:00pm that same night. Overall, I spent a whopping 14 hours in the hospital.

Thank you! lol I just read a post on another site while looking something up where some gal who has a clerical job sitting behind a desk all day was taking six WEEKS off! Ridiculous! I know my best friend works for a company that the front desk gal who also sat at her PC all day took a month off - she milked it for all it was worth. In my mind the longer you stay inactive and don't get back into your routine the worse off you'll be with energy and just overall getting back to real life. I was out riding my motorcycle within a week after the stitches came out and was fine - out doing events and back to dinners with friends (not eating much but still lol) nearly immediately.

I had my surgery this past Tuesday (7th) and got sent home on Thursday. They told me I had to either pass gas or have a BM before I could go. Still no BM (it is now Saturday), but the gas is coming from both ends! Lol!

My surgeon says that I'll have surgery at 8am on Tues and go home Wed afternoon if all is well. I received my insurance approval and it allowed for 1 night in the hospital so that may be the reason....

DHB, I also spent one night in hospital. I think that's pretty standard for surgery in US.

Good lord!!!! As a nurse that makes me go arrrrghhhhhh! But I guess you're still live and kicking :-)
