How many days post op in hospital?

Hi Diane,

Wow no CPAP anymore? I am 6 days out and struggling a bit. Know it will get better. Still on liquid and running out of creative liquid to eat. I am interested in your cpap usage. I have been on one for at least 5 years. Won't sleep without it. At what weight were you able to stop using it? Thx

Hi Jamie, I stopped using it after a couple of months...so maybe after I'd dropped about 30 pounds or so. My husband reports that I don't snore hardly ever anymore, and if I do, it's only the soft kind...not the gasping-for-air or choking or loud kind. I sleep through the night much better now, and don't fall asleep while driving or in meetings during the day. Have not been back to the pulmonologist, but I believe all signs are pointing to the fact that I'm getting enough oxygen while I sleep now, so I have declared myself C-PAP and sleep apnea FREE!

I spent 2 nights in the hospital. Well worth it. wanted to monitor pain and make sure all was ok before I was discharged.

I am paying $15000 out of pocket 14000 for surgery (all inclusive of assistants, facility, etc) and 2 years of follow up visits PLUS 950 for anesthesiologist There is an additional 1300 for the two year nutritional and exercise follow up program (which was a huge reason for me to feel confident in this program) however my Insurance is covering. When I looked at my future and compared to the dollars I've dumped on other weight loss programs...I started kicking myself for not looking at this sooner, but I'm psyched now,

I had mine in an outpatient surgery facility and went home the same day, to husband and 3 easy going boys. Surgery at 8:30, out of surgery about 9:30, walking the halls at 10:30, home around 2:00. Worked out fine for me, no issues.

Leilani, this just proves women are tuffer than men ! Wow, that is radical but GOOD for you.

I was in the standard 2 nights following surgery.

I was sleeved 5/3/11. I stayed overnight Tues., went homw Wed., worked half a day Thurs., and was back to work full time on Friday. I had no pain, no nausea, and lived 2 hours from my surgeon. I wouldn't have changed a thing. If I suggest anything it would be comfortable clothing, and slippers. You'll be up walking really quickly!

I was in the hospital 2 days, then in the hotel 2 days then went home. I was fine. no problems traveling. with almanda it is different. I had dr kelly

My sleeve surgery is 6 days. My surgeon keeps you three night in the hospital. Hope it goes well

Dr. Kelly keeps you two nights and then 2 days in a hotel so he can keep close tabs on you.

I stayed 2 nights, but kind of had to "ask" for it.. He said I could go home next day. I'm happy I was in hospital and could get iv pain meds, and ask the questions, ie, why this hurt or that.. etc..

I was in for 2 nights, and could have stayed another but after they blew 2 of my IVs I was not letting them do a third so I went home instead....
Home is gooood!
