Have this baby!!!!!!
Im at 285 right now....just trying to do as well as I can to NOT to be 300 at delivery.
I feel like my goals are the same every month, but I also know there's a reason for that...
Starting weight 240, goal 230.
Exercize: increase! more walking on weekends; more biking on weekdays; start yoga and get back into muscle class
Food: Eat our less! I'm not sure about quantifying this... Just less.
1. Buy a swimsuit (major anxiety just typing that) and start water aerobics if doctor approves.
2. Walk 6 days a week and try to increase distance
3. Stationary bike 6 days a week for 15 min.
4. Lose 6 lbs (this may seem low but I'm losing about a lb a week)
5. Drink one protein shake a day.
6. Take all vitamins daily
I started a 215 lbs July 1.
Yesterday I took an hour walk, no pain, and today I went 1 1/2 hours b/c tomorrow I won't be able to. Yay! It felt so good after all those weeks of inactivity due to the injury.
mila, just reading your list makes me tired, but go for the gusto! Personally, I would just pick one or two activities and do them a few times a week to start unless you're already exercising at that pace.
Hey Dee,
I am already doing this much except for the water aerobics, which will be 2-3x's a week and I will not walk on those days. I had a laparotomy not a laparoscopy, so the doctor has yet to release me for much, since I am only two months out. He wanted me walking 20 min 2xs daily, but it is too hot here to walk in the afternoon and I don't want to walk in the evenings. So he agreed to 15 min on the exercise bike. I am up to the 15-20 min walking in the morning, depending on how far I feel like going. My very in shape husband walks with me and that is so motivating to me, that I have really enjoyed the walking. He's a sweetie. He keeps bragging to others about how much I'm losing and that I'm 'pushing it' when I exercise. Not really all that true, but I guess he sees I'm really trying to do this thing with all my heart. Love what this surgery is doing for my self esteem and for my health. I feel so much better.
Is it too early to check in? I've been doing great on the liquids & protein, but I only remembered my vitamins once this week! I did just have my blood work done last week and I'm ok on everything but Vit D, so I guess I'm kind of ok on that. And I found out that my weight was so low over the weekend because I was dehydrated - I caught up on fluids on Monday and I'm up almost 3 pounds! I'm still going to try to hit 225 by the end of the month.
Of course it's not too late, aurora! Welcome!
Congrats, michelle.
Now will someone give me a kick in the ass to go outside on this beautiful day and exercise? I was out earlier doing errands and thinking, yeah, when I get home...and then, you know. The couch and the computer took over.
mila, though, has got me embarrassed given how much SHE does...
