I've had a few major rewards since my VSG on 4/26/12, the biggest being a major drop in A1C and the realistic hope of full remission next bloodwork.
Here are two smaller rewards.
1) I'm under 250 lbs which means on vacation I can now, if I choose, ride in helicopter or ride a zipline, or use a Segue or half dozen other things that say " Limit 250 lbs." I probably won't care if I ever do them, but being back on the right side of the velvet rope is cool.
2) I'm a hobbyist photographer, always looking for new locations. I got this one this morning after a hike down a mountain trail and, more importantly, a hike back up.

There is NO WAY I would have gotten to the base of the falls 10 weeks ago, and if I did I'd have needed that helicopter to get back out.
Small, but meaningful victories.
