    Default Reality checks....

So let me start off to say I am very happy that I had my sleeve done and am super excited of the weight I've lost!! BUT I think I had much higher expectations with the weight loss than I actually have. Now granted I cannot believe I've lost 34 lbs and (last time I measured) 21.75 inches in 1 mo but to me apparently I (subconciously) thought I was going to wake up from surgery skinny! So I got a bit disappointed. And didn't loose weight at all last week and the beginning of this week. But it's picked back up. Plus just bc u have a smaller stomach doesn't mean u can eat anything you want. U still have to make the right choices- that was a reality I hadn't thought about either. And I am loosing but I am loosing in my thighs first! So that makes it where I'm not loosing in my waist as much ugh! And of course that's the main place that I want to lose. But the thighs needed to go too. I even thought I would lose my chest first too like in the past but not their either. so that's just my rant and rave for now. Thanks for listening :-)

I too has that feeling of I am gonna loose all this weight quick for some reason I imagined my stomach to be alot smaller then it was and is. But in reality MY face, kneck arms and legs have toned down alot. but my stomach is still my biggest obstacle. It is smaller then it used to be and I have dropped pant sizes, but I guess my expectatiosn wernt realistic

I am losing in my thighs first, also. I really would rather my waist get smaller first, but what can we do?

I had this very conversation with my mom last night. She had RNY bypass but I have chosen the sleeve. I have not had a very clear picture of how the weight loss will be, but a friend compared it to "melting away" and I am having a hard time imagining how that is going to look and feel. Of course, at this point in my life, any weight loss is going to be great, but I wish I had a clearer picture...my surgery is April 16th and I am counting the days!
