Five days post op

Had my surgery 19 June at 1030. Felt pretty good the first day and hurt like heck for days 2-4. Today I feel much better and can actually get in and out of deeper seats, turn over in bed without cringing and (silly as it is) get off and on the toilet 10+ times a day with ease! I was worried that it would take me a long time to heal as I also had a hiatal hernia repaired during sleeve surgery, but it appears I wasn't any worse for the wear. I am looking forward to my weight loss journey and ultimately shopping in the regular size department.

Best of luck Texas Mom! It gets easier with each new day, although it may get a little tough before you actually get to eat "regular" food again... just keep coming here, reading everyone's stories, and asking for help when you need it. I'm two months out and am still learning to "listen" to my sleeve, but loving every minute of my post-sleeve life!

I also had my surgery on 6/19. your description of the last five days is exactly the same as mine. lol. I did not have the hernia though.
How are you doing with your water and protein shake? I am just yesterday able to get 1 shake and 4 bottles of water down. As a lot of people have said on here, it does get a little better each day. Glad to hear your doing well. Take care!

5 days post-op here too, and feeling better every day! I actually made it to the gym today and did 2 miles on the treadmill!

Bob, did you not have any diareah with it being so soon after surgery? I'm still struggling with that, but pray for better days ahead!

Congrats to all of you! It just keeps getting better. Each day you will feel noticeably better than the last. But fatigue still ha me for a couple weeks.

Doing great with the water... in fact tend to drink more than required as it is very HOT down here and the cold water tastes great! Not drinking protein shakes yet. My Dr. prescribed only clear liquids, so sugarfree popsicles, sugarfree jello, decaf tea and of course WATER! Very glad to hear you took the same path I did. At first the pain seemed too much, but each day is getting better and better. I have been walking at least 30 minutes a day. I did that and went to the mall yesterday and added another hour and half. May have been too much... a little sore today. Good luck to you as well and your path to a healthy life :-)

That's great Bob! I have a treadmill and elliptical at home, which is making it easy for me to exercise. I am shocked at already losing 10 pounds in just six days and here you are losing 20... AWESOME!

I do tend to take about one nap a day. I took two weeks of sick leave and hope it will be enough. If not, I may jut add an afternoon here and there. Congratulations on your weight loss.. I will be very excited to see where my journey leads.
