    Default Pizza. Ugh!!

Well I'm 7 1/2 months out and ate my first piece of pizza tonight. I think it will be my last. That thing sat in my tummy like a rock! I guess it's a good thing that I just don't seem to tolerate breads well. Last week I ate a few bites salad. That was my first lettuce. Made me extremely sick! All of these things that still get to me this far out surprise me. Anyone else have things that they just cannot tolerate anymore?

No but I'm jealous, actually. I can eat a personal pizza or bread or salad with no issues. I have to be super careful what I put in my mouth. I guess we just all heal differently

I can take about 3 bites of anything...I've been able to get a small slice minus the crust

Have you tried just eating the top of the pizza? I also can eat a little salad as long as I cut it up into tiny pieces and chew the bejezus out of it before swallowing--about 1/4 cup, but at least I'm getting some fresh, raw veggies in most days. But as someone else already said: 3 bites and I'm pretty much done!

I'm not supposed to eat untoasted bread so pizza's off my list but I've noticed a number of people on here had issues after eating it. Hope you feel better!

I do what Sunflower does, I eat the toppings.... I can have a bite (literally) of toast or english muffin or biscuit but only one and only once in a while.

Salad - I eat it daily but it has to be butter lettuce aka hydroponic lettuce in some areas. It's very soft, goes down fine. Crunchy veggies just can't happen.
I put 1 oz of shredded cheddar and some real bacon bits on it with chicken. I have to admit I do miss a big crunchy salad...

Otherwise it's mostly pasta that is just not going to happen ever again. Oh, and breading on things, I think it soaks up too much grease.

I tried crunchy vegetables for the first time since surgery this week and while I couldn't eat much of them, I can eat them.

I eat the topping off pizza and a bit or two of the cruchy crust. I also eat salads and crunchy veggies. I can't eat the breading on foods either most times. I had some breaded chicke cutlet dsay and it wasn't mt best day(: I also put protein on my salads, mostly eat that but love the crunchiness w/it. I do not eat iceberg lettuce, but love spring mix or romaine. Continued success...

My devil? Red sauce of any kind and milk. Still get serious cramps and diarrhea from any type of dairy, and red sauce makes my esophagus burn like crazy. I'm at 6 months out.
Never had problems with these two things before...............but, I'm losing weight, so I'll just "deal " with it. <wink>

I can eat anything. I was able to eat one small slice of thin crust pizza. For thick crust, I eat the topping. Not because I can't eat the crust just not worth the calorie. I feel I have an iron stomach. I can eat ground beef, bread, broccoli, cucumber, pepper, spicy food, dairy, etc.

I won't eat any kind of breads yet including pizza. I honestly don't want any. Bread was my biggest weakness before surgery and I don't want to bring back old habits. I amaze myself when I say I don't want pizza or bread without even thinking.

I can't drink orange juice now. The taste is so disgusting now. We get the expensive good orange juice. I have tried it several different times and I even ask my husband to taste mine and he says it's the same as always.

I still haven't eaten salads. My mind is in "protein first" mode in anything I eat.

my son laughs at me because if i eat a lot of carbs (pasta, french fries, potato, etc) I go into a "food coma"........I have literally fallen asleep at a restaurant table, to a point where it takes my son helping me to the car. I stick with soups when I eat out.

    it's all so wierd.
