    My friends are doing a 5k in october and want meto join. Anyone have any suggestions on howto keep my energy up training to do this? I am going to do the couch to 5k plan but concearned about stamina.

    Since the 5k is in October (not too hot), it should be a good race for first timmer. I think you will be fine. I run 5k on the treadmill all the time without problem. It is a bit more difficult to run on the pavement so you do need to train on that. Maybe bring some water or gel pack with you in a belt. I have seen those.

    I am also doing a 5k in October and am really excited.. I am walking mostly now with sections of running... I have to be careful because I get shin splints pretty bad. I doubt I will be able to run the whole way but I am gonna try my best!! A lot of 5k's welcome all levels.. walkers, runners, mix, etc..

    This is the 5k that I registered for... Oct 21st in DC. It looks like SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! I can't wait!!!

    If I were younger I would join you!! Have fun with it -- you can do 3.6 miles whether you walk or jog or run or all of the above. )

    1 month: 185.4 lbs; 2 months: 170 lbs, size 16; 3 months: 162.6 lbs, size 14; 4 months: 151.8 lbs; 5 months: 143.2 lbs, size 10; 6 months: 142.4 lbs stalls suck ; 7 months: 131.2 lbs, size 6 - 8; 9 months 130.2, size 6 - no real loss in 2 months -- Think I am done!
