One week post op 4/19. I'm hungry & I've made the mistake to eating & drinking too fast! Ouch. Basically eating cottage cheese, greek yougurt, humus, and EAS 41 gm protein drinks. Oh, I experiemented with Tuna - big mistake. I walked for two hours trying not to vommit.

I have been walkinging 1 mile plus daily. It is easier to drink if I am walking.

My blood sugars are great! I have more energy. Only down 10 lbs but that's ok.

I just got my sleeve on April 26th, it hasn't been too bad so far. I would love to talk to anyone who is going through this journey with me that got their sleeve around my date.

does anyone else feel they can eat more than 4 oz. of mushies??? i am hopeful that it is just bc they are mushies and not solid food - but i'm concerned that i take down 4 oz. very easily. i do not rush, def. take my time, but i do not feel uncomfortable at the end of 4 oz. i am NOT experimenting and taking more in - but i'm concerned that i think i could.

anyone else a couple weeks ahead of me understand? does it change when you get to solid foods?

i'm nervous that so many people said they could only have a couple bites of eggs... i ate 4 oz. egg beaters - NO problem. how about those who said they can only do 1 oz. cottage cheese??? i can do 3 oz. mixed with jello for a total of 4 oz. NO problem.

    is there something wrong????

    20 days Post Op!

Yippeeee! I am loving the mushy food stage! I'm finding that eating about 2 oz 4 times a day really helps me keep my protein levels up and increase my calorie intake so my body doesn't think it's starving. (Which is part of the reason I've gained weight back in the past...under-doing it can FUDGE up your metabolism as much as over-doing it.)

I had my first "slime" experience the other day. GROSS!!! Not sure what caused it because I had just had 2 bites of food. I think maybe it was the texture?????? I tried a tiny bite of grits, then had 2 tiny bites of eggs (I have eaten eggs about 6 times prior to, so it wasn't the egg). I think it was the texture of the grits. UGH!!!!!!! Won't be trying THAT again for a while!!!!!

Other than that, I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!
I have that teenage invincible feeling!!!!

So Brain, what are we going to do tonight?

Today I'm cleaning house, doing yard work, and feeling like "Tawanda", the Bee Charmer from Fried Green Tomatoes!!!

I'm also imagining myself 90 lbs thinner, inventing a self cleaning house and thereby RULING THE WORLD!! Muahahahahaha!!!!

The same thing we do every night, Pinky! Try to take over the world!!!!

    Just some random thoughts.

    Share yours!!!!!!!!!!

    Jess,

Everyone is different! I can't consume more than 2 oz at a time, however, the other night I had a small bowl of beans and cheese, ate a little, waited 10 minutes, ate a little more, and finished 4 oz in about 30 minutes, which was a major up in intake thus far.

Just don't push simply because you feel you can! Keep your goals in mind, and if you have to push the food away before you feel quite full, do it! Just keep your calorie and protein intake at the recommended levels and don't fill up on empty carbs!

Love that you started this post...you're the bomb diggity girl!

hey christal, def. not doing many carbs (actually only carb i've had is some mashed potatotes) - and i ALWAYS take about 30-40 min. to eat... i'm just feeling self-conscious that i can eat that whole measured 4oz. portion with no issues. and everyone else seems to be more aligned with you and closer to 2 oz.

Thank you Ikbear, I needed to hear that. Jess, I am not on mushier yet, but I feel like I can hold down liquids easily and think I could do more than 4 oz. Also. I am glad you brought that up because I was thinking that also. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hey Jess, sounds like you're doing great! I don't usually have time to eat that slowly so I eat about 4 times a day. I thinl youre right on track!

I am sleeved (27th) and feeling marvelous. No problem with shakes and liquids. I love my surgeon and have followed all his advice. He gave me medicine cups to take home and that is what I sip from until I get the whole shake down. I make my own with a gift from my parents this vitamix machine from qvc really whips things up and taste great too. I can't believe how great I feel. Day after surgery had no pain except gas so I would just walk around the hospital. I stayed 2 nights by choice just because I wanted to rest I have two demanding children. Now I can't to watch the weight come off sssooo excited and amazed at how great I feel. Thank you just jess and everyone for sharing I have been reading all your posts and learning alot.

My capacity is about 1/2 a cup but somethings I have been able to take in more. I too feel like my stomach is not as small as I wanted or thought it would be but I stick to measuring my 1/2 cup and chewing a lot and savoring the tastes. Somethings I have decided don't taste as good or effect me different now that my stomach is smaller. Then there's still things I wish I could pig out on like Mac and cheese but the Mac expands in my stomach and gets uncomfortable. When I have had too much it feels like a donkey kicked me right in the center of my chest.

Hi all! I had surgery April 11th and I lost 12 lbs the first week and nothing really since until yesterday, the scale moved down 1 lb and now today it's back up. I've gone from being frustrated about it to just plain sad. It makes drinking these damn shakes that much harder. I hope this is just some kind of stall and it will pass soon (13 days and no loss is pretty hard to take in the beginning).

I think I am also feeling the same. I think I have lost 8kgs so far and now it has stucked. My liquid diet has finished in my second week. I am on pureed diet and its almost the end of third week. My stomack gets upset if I eat something of grains like porridge. I have been allowed to have 2 0z in a meal.I have not started any exercise, as I will get a green signal in 6th week ( 24 May) for a brisk walk. I have not even allowed to drive till 16th may. Any one with any advice? plz guide.
