My dr said i could start soft foods yesterday,(scrambled egg)and like cottage cheese, so i'm kinda confused as to what to eat... the egg i ate yesterday and today!! yeahhh i was so happy.
any ideas ???
Soft foods are mushy foods ... eggs, cheese, oatmeal ....
Pureed foods are solid foods that you have to break down into a mushy-like consistency so your stomach can handle them. For example, if you cook a meatloaf in the slow cooker all day long, in order to eat it you have to put it into the food processor to make it even softer and mushier so it doesn't shock the hell out of your stomach when it hits and send your body int full reverse mode.
I've been eating beans with a wedge of laughing cow cheese in it. I pureed the beans so they are the right consitency with the laughing cow fresco chipote. My stomach hasn't hurt at all...it took me an hour to eat 2oz!!! I tried salmon pureed tonight and it was.....yuk!! but maybe that's just me!! LOL

my soft food stage constited mostly of loosely scrambled eggs, a lot of the same foods I'd been eating with my full liquids diet (yoghurt, jello, applesauce), oatmeal. My wife and I actually sat down with some friends of ours who'd just had her 4th baby and asked her what she felt was appropriate for her children, foodwise, at certain intervals in their eating habits. This gave us a nice place to start from as far as what might be a good jumping off point.
